Not noticing much around the sinuses. It is more on the top of my head.

This past weekend was "Victoria Day" in Canada. We ended up going shopping for a bit. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted at a Target store that recently opened up near where Sis lives so we went to Wal-Mart. Did not find it there either, but I did get some tomatoes, celery and lettuce that they had on sale. Then there was some cloud bursts. Wow, it came down fast and furious for a couple of minutes, then it was gone again. When BIL was driving me home, we stopped at Safeway so I could get some water (but their machine was out of order so no luck there) and just got back in the van and it came down again, the raindrops so big it sounded like rocks on the windshield. I think the weather man needs to go back to school to re-learn the definition of "showers" lol

Hope you were able to get your computer back up and running.

I sold that tablet to my nephew. He decided that instead of me taking it back, he would buy it . H said he really likes it and yesterday afternoon was playing tetrus on the touch screen. Glad he is enjoying it.

My nephew and his wife are moving this Saturday. I will not be of any help this time, so won't go and add to the confusion. Meghan is pregnant (due end of August) and it is hard for her to do much heavy lifting, etc, I sure hope they get lots of guys to help them.

As for me, I have a top of papers to sort through and shred. Oh joy, one of my favourite jobs. Physically it is not hard, I just don't like doing it......

Let me know if and when you hear from Anna. Take Care and hope you have a good week.

That sounds like that oculd be sinus headaches Linda. Any sinus pressure you can determine?

My computer has been on the blink all weekend long! It has been making me very stressed and irritated! I forgot aobut some work I have to do and now have to play catch up! So, need my computer!

Take care! I hope those headaches fade. Do you have a doctor appointment scheduled?

I have been having a lot of headaches lately, some feel like someone is driving a nail or a screwdriver into my skull, others feel like my head is in some kind of vice grip and being squeezed til it's going to pop.

It is very frustrating and another think I have to talk to the doctor about. UGH! SOON!

Have you heard from Anna lately? Did her daughter find a house for them? Hope all is ok.

'Til next time....

Hi, Melissa, just checking in. I don't get on the computer much these days.l

My previous doctor sent me for all the testing for CHF, but came back negative. He could not understand it because I was presenting will all the symptons.....

I was going to take the tablet back because it was just too confusing for me, but my nephew decided he would buy it for me so my Sis and her husband stopped by yesterday morning after her eye appointment, and picked it up. Nephew went up to the store last night and purchased the additional warranty. Today he is off to Grande Prarie for the weekend and took it along. I hope he likes it and can figure hout how to work it. I think I would be better off with just an ereader so I can read using larger fonts than on paper.....

Biggest and hardest decision I ever had to make was to have my poor Simon put to sleep. I cried so hard the night before, and for the next couple of days. I kept seeing him peeking around the corner and one night I woke up and saw him leaping around after those little bread bag closures he loved to toss up in the air and then chase. One night I actually felt him lying on my chest like he liked to do.

He wasn't really very old, only about 16 1/2 years but he had kidney failure. The first time I took him to the vet, he wasn't peeing, and she checked him out and put him on fluids for a few hours, and told me he was down to 70 percent kidney function. 2 months later almost to the day he was down to 30 percent and I just could not handle it. He was so hungry but could not eat anything. I had decided to take him in on the weekend, but Wednesday morning I had to take him in, I could not handle the pain he was in and my BIL came over in the morning and drove me over then took me up to Sis's where I spent the rest of the day. She never understood my attachment to cats, but she recognized that as a single person living alone, he was my family so she let me cry and listened to me rattle on about him.

Sorry for this long missive, but I still miss him so much even 2 years later. As much as I would like another cat to help fill the void, I know I am in no shape to look after another one.

Enjoy the special time you have with Jack now and treasure the memories.......

Hugs to you.
Linda.

Oh no, Linda, this is a great idea! Yes, I agree babies or children screaming with no response from parents is very annoying as are yappy dogs! Yes, 80 mg. of fluid pills is alot. Have you been diagnosed with congestive heart failure? You need to make that day long excursion and get it checked out! But, I'm sure a long trip like that would mean even more swelling for your legs! Yikes! I'm glad you are getting that tablet all figured out. I'm sure once you are used to it you will love it!

Question of the Weekend: What is the biggest decision you ever had to make?

I guess I haven't made it yet, but when to put my dog down will be it. It will be here soon unfortuantely. I'll also have to decide what I need to do for my dad and where will be the best place for him to live once he is released. So, I know I will have 2 really big biggies coming up! The thought of both makes my tummy lurch!

Melissa, sorry, I wasn't even thinking of your speach program, so if it will be too much for it, that would be ok. It was just a suggestion. Because I haven't been on site much over the past couple of months, I don't know what is happening and how each of you are doing.

I spend most of the day up at my sisters and was playing with the new tablet. I tried to enter in some information (dates) into the planner. I was in the month view and it kept marking it as an all day event, then when I tried to set the time, it put it as Dublin time and then somehow the appointment was spread over 2 days. I finally found the button for Mountain Standard time but that tottally changed the time, it was showing as an 8 pm appointment (or some other wierd time) instead of a 10 a.m. one. I was getting so frustrated but I finally figured out that I have to put it to the daily view and finally got the appointments entered correctly.

Then I was looking at my email but somehow I managed to delete a number of them that I did not want to delete, and I could not find the trash bag on the tablet (it all looks so different from my email on my big computer......) so I had to turn the thing off and check my trash bin when I got home. Luckily there were all there so was able to recover them.

I started taking "water pills" a number of years ago, at just 10 mg once a day. Then he upped it to twice a day, then he doubled it and now I take 40 mg morning and 40 mg evening. That's a lot of medication but it now seems like it is no longer working again. I am going to have to get him to see if there is another type of pill that can work better. Maybe I have just become immune to this one because they don't seem to help much when I sit with my legs elevated --they still remain swollen

The very first time I took water pills, I was in my mid 30's and I literally lost 30 pounds of water overnight. For years I used to joke that I had to sit down and drain my legs, but it is no longer a joking matter. I will definately be talking to him about this the next time I go. My problem is that his office in no where near where I live and it is almost a whole day excursion just to go there......

Doc always checks my kidney function and last time he said they were ok, but.....

Sounds that really bother me..... I guess babies screaming and the parents not seeming to be doing anything about it, they don't take them out of the church, or the restaurant, or whatever.

I also hate the sounds of yappy little dogs that yap all the time. (not the same as one who is barking to warn someone of danger or something.

I often have trouble hearing so when it appears that people are mumbling, that bothers me. Then they get mad if I ask them to speak up.....

My favourite sound in the world right now is that diaper commercial that has all these babies laughing and giggling. It is so infections I can't help smiling.

OK, I'm doing 1 thread per month then. I can ask riveting questions here and we can all keep up with one another! I'll start a new thread each month because with my speech program threads with many posts take a long time to load!

Linda-- I am so happy you finally got your disability pay! Glad you are getting back pay too! I hope the tablet works well for you. My dad's condition and my dog's has knocked me for a loop for sure! But, I'll muddle thru! I always do! That is scary about your legs! Have you been prescribed anything for water retention? Anna knows of some stuff I know! I think she told us vitamin B6 is good for water retention. Keep your legs up as much as you can! Do you have an appointment with a doctor any time soon?

Anna-- A house for all of you would be great! I hope she finds one. I'm sorry you are still in so much pain. I guess I am "lucky" in that I don't have any physical pain, just emotional. But, as I said to Linda, I'll muddle thru!

QOTD for Monday, May 6: What sound anoys you more than anything?

Oh, I am bothered by sounds! Some of them include people stirring their coffee or tea... That clink, clink, clink. the sound of styrofoam, newspaper rattling, flip flops flipping and flopping, people slurping soup.... Oh my! I am just bothered by sounds!
