Cancer: My mom and her father both had skin cancer. She was a survivor, he was not. A nephew had a different kind of cancer, but has been cancer free for about 5 years now. Yeah, the magical number 5.....
Thyroid: My mom had thyroid problems, I was on meds back in the 80's, not any longer, (maybe I didn't really need it?) and my sis is on meds.
Heart: My father died of a heart attack. I have CHF Don't know about the others.
Diabetes: My father was the first that I knew of it, he had to go on insulin towards the end.....
Most of my sisters have diabetes, most are diet and or oral controlled. I know of one other sister besides myself that uses insulin.
Fibromyalgia: One of my sisters has this.
MS: My sis (twin) has this
Truthfully, I am not in real close contact with many of my siblings so I don't really know what goes on in thier daily lives. I know my oldest brother, whom I was for the first time in many years (we live in different provinces) has The Big A.

Diabetes is the one that is prominent. My grandmothers and my Dad and several aunts and also heart disease.

What types of diseases/illnesses run in your family?

Oh boy! Diabetes is a big one.... I was the first diagnosed at age 3, but then my cousin was diagnosed, then his father, then my grandmother, then my mother and we are all insulin dependent. There is heart disease and obesity on my mother's side. Stroke and cancer on my dad's side. I'm trying to live longer despite my family history of so much disease!
