Is it more beneficial to work out at the gym or in the home?

I don't think one is more beneficial than the other but someone told me that working out without the aid of a machine works the body more. True or false?

The best thing I could tell you would be to look up walking and the different times in the fitness tracker and try to match them as far as how far and how long it took. SP doesn't have a step counter though it has been suggested. Try for 10,000 steps a day.

I recently bought a pedometer and I'm wondering how to use it (as in increasing my time or steps walking from my baseline) in conjunction with the SP fitness tracker?

Thanks Sharon and Dreamweaver,
That worked perfectly. Gosh, only never realised I ate so little fibre!
I guess I have to try and work harder on that one!

I believe Nancy meant to tell you to start on your START page, not your spark page. Then follow the rest of Nancy's directions. They will be added to the block below your total cals, carbs, fats, and proteins.

Yes. Go to your spark page. Scroll to my goals. Click on consume between --- and --- calories. That will take you to the edit nutrition goals. Scroll down to ADD ANOTHER NUTRIENT TO TRACK. They are listed there. Let me know if you need more help. Nancy

I have a question.
When I go to my nutrition tracker I can see the overall calculations for calories, fat, protein and carbs. I would really like to see the total of how much fibre and sodium I am eating every day - is there any way of adding this on to my nutrition tracker? I dont know if anyone knows about this?

I am not familiar with that program. What kind of activities are involved? Is it more geared to cardio or to strength training? I suspect it is cardio and you can put it in as a manually entered (user entered) exercise. Go to the Fitness Resource, click on add cardio, click on the last tab to enter your own activity. Then each time you do it click that tab to bring it up and enter in the amount of time spent doing it. I hope this helps you. I am not especially computer literate and do not find it easy to explain what to do. I hope you are able to follow what I am trying to explain.

There is a fitness tracker in the Fitness Resource Center which calculates calories burned for cardio exercise. You can also use it to track strength training exercises but those exercises are for buildiung strength, not burning calories. Hope that helps.

I have a question. Is there any way to track the amount of calories burned with the fitness exercises, I am doing? Or even when I go for a run/walk? I really appreciate any help.

Thank you!

From your start page click Community, then Sparkpages, the edit you sparkpage. Scroll down to the bottom of your sparkpage and fill in by choosing your background and your icon and don't forget to click on SAVE. Your weight tracker will then appear on the bottom of all your posts and every time you change your weight in the weigh in area your tracker will automatically update.

I haven't come accross any nor seen any in any of the posts. Most people do all caps to emphasize.

Beth - Good for you figuring out the answer before we could even respond to your question. You're pretty sharp!

Is there a way to show text bold, or in italics?

Emotive Frink

One is happy as a result of one's own efforts once one knows the necessary ingredients of happiness: simple tastes, a certain degree of courage, self denial to a point, love of work, and above all, a clear conscience.

If you click yes, there is a map that show the rough vicinity of where you live. Due to security reasons, some people chose not to use this. Also, be very careful what information you give out as our pages can be googled.

What does it mean when it asks you whether or not you want to be shown on the team map?
