I've been running to the bathroom all the time now too!! I'm on day 3 of this running.

I like the mental image of my cells flushing clean.... I can picture the dark dingy ugly used water my poor cells were holding before. Yuck!

Bottoms up!

To date: 2.5 lbs lost!

Really, I think the worst so far was having to go the bathroom and being in my leotard at the time - totally lethal combination!!
I hope this goes away soon!

When I first start drinking alot of water again, I notice I'm always running to the bathroom. After a few days, though, my body adjusts, and I don't have to go so much.

It is very important to keep drinking. Yes you have to pee a lot, but as all the others have said it will subside, but think about this...

Every one of our cells is made up of 80% water. This cell spends all day working, creating energy, and also waste products. If you are not feeding your body regular water, the cells can't flush the waste out, so it retains the old muddy water until you drink a little. When you finally do drink some, every cell wants to clear everything out ASAP because it has been holding on to the toxic stuff for so long.

If you drink water regularly, the cells will have a chance to flush normally and then there won't be such a mad rush to flush everything. Above all the benefits far outweigh the temporary increase in bathroom breaks. So pee and be free :)

CANLOSE81 - Hold on to that feeling, its just as important as the scale reading - if not more important. Water is the best thing for skin (clearing and anti-aging), its good for lubricating the joints as well as mental clarity and it keeps you regular!

emoticon

So after read this take a drink ;)

I wake up at least two times a night to pee. It sucks! I don't go this much when I drink beer. I know it will get better the longer I do it. emoticon

It was awful when I started drinking water......I NEVER drank water thought it tasted "YUCKY"
I currently drink 96 oz a day!
I started out with 1 bottle of water a day, then 2 and so on.
Now I have a 32 oz container and I empty it 3x a day for my 96.
It was reallllllllllllllllly hard getting started, but now I really enjoy water and do not pee as much!
Start slow work your way up and it will become second nature. I feel lost if I set down my water and can't find it!
You'll get there give yourself time and be patient...the peeing does die down!

I'm taking it as a good sign.
I used to drink... nothing... except for coffee and diet pop.
So a friend of mine-- who recently joined weight watchers-- challenged me to drink 8 glasses a day for a week because she wanted to see what would happen.
(i.e. if it would have any impact on my weight)
So far (given that I haven't had that first weigh in yet since I started here) my skin looks better and I have more energy (that's probably owing to my new dietary habits).
I guess we'll see what "difference" it's made on Monday.
I almost don't want to know-- I don't want to get hung up on the numbers in case they don't go my way. Maybe it's just better to remember how good I feel.
(I'd like that to continue)

I also get at least 100 oz every day. For those of you struggling are you counting CUPS of water or GLASSES of water? Most glasses hold more than 8 oz. And a cup is 8 oz. You may be drinking more water than you think you are. The goal is to drink 4 16 oz bottles per day. I carry a litre bottle with me and sip at it all day long. That way I don't have a lot of water all at once and my body handles it better. I drink four litre bottles per day.

I get in 100oz at least every day. While I am at work I just keep a big container at my desk and it has become habit for me. After so many years of drinking big gulps I am used to drinking a lot. Yes, sometimes I do feel like I am constantly getting out of my desk at work but I welcome it because it gives me a chance to stretch my feet a little.

For what it is worth I have read many time that it is better to increase water consumption gradually instead of jumping into a gallon or two everyday.

it'll do that for a while then ease up when your body is used to it. I drink about 100 oz of water a day and never have a problem...the first couple weeks, though,,OYYYY!!!

It is different with everyone... Just keep it up :) Usually just a week or so. It is better that you are running to the bathroom rather than retaining all that water :)

I was JUST thinking this! I've done really well today. Polished off my 16 oz. bottle during dinner break, and I've already had to pee twice! I'm almost afraid to start on the 2nd bottle. I've been told that it will level off when your body gets used to it, but I don't know how long that takes. TGIF! I have the weekend to adjust!
The best I've done on water since joining was 4 glasses. I may just aim at getting that for a few days, then work up to 5, 6, and eventually 8. Give my body some time to adjust.

Does anyone else feel like they are running to the bathroom all day while trying to get your 64oz in? Any good ideas how to manage that AND actually work??
