Hi, I live on the Woolhope Dome in Herefordshire and there are really beautiful walks here and along the River Wye. Our local village shop has a leaflet about local walks but I don't think there is a link unless the Council do one.

Hi folks, I live in Staffordshire quiet close to the Roches. Beautiful area but rains a lot! emoticon The villiage I live in has some fantastic walks along canals and through nature reserves I'm very lucky but don't take advantage of this lovely location as much as I should!!

After posting this I read Actinia's first post and I too stumbled across a link to my local council site whith a massive list of activities and organised walks etc. all around Staffordshire. I'm sure other councils have similar information.

Thanks for the tip Actinia!!

As we are south of Leicester, I have walked around this end of Leicestershire a bit, and there are so many lovely areas! One of my faves is along the Ashby Canal, near Shenton!

I love walking anywhere but Derbyshire is beautiful. I mostly walk around our village which is not a pretty place but there are still lots of good walks nearby.

I go to the local Commons, as it has acres and acres and acres of land. So do many other folks, many with dogs. And I am always game to try somewhere else, as long as my "pups" can come along. :)

Hi Actinia - I love walking too although its very weather dependable. I live in church stretton - the shropshire hills - so I've got plenty of fabulous national trust land and walks too!

Hi all,

I was looking for interesting walks to do around where I live, and stumbled across this series of walks put together by my local council.

www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/visitors/leisure/spo
rts-and-leisure/countryside/countrysid
e-walks/stepping-out-walks/

If anyone is in Lincolnshire, or ever planning to visit, there are some really nice village and countryside walks around here.

And it got me thinking, if my council does this maybe others do, and if so perhaps we can create a topic with linked walks for days out across the midlands.

Hope everyone's having a good day.
