Can't you join both groups, KIMMMMYG? I'm a member of two - one to the West of me and one to the North. I also might need to join one that is close to my Mom's coz she's too scared to do it for herself - but I haven't tried that yet.
My only frustration with Freecycle is how picky the people who want something can be. I've responded several times to Wanted pleas only to be told that it wasn't quite what they meant. Why didn't they be more specific in the first place then? I've stopped responding to Wanteds now.

I check every now and again but it's a love/hate. If I don't get the emails I forget to check, when I do get the emails I get too many emails and it's a bit over kill, I can't seem to find a middle ground.
I got rid of my old cd/stereo unit on there no hassle, I dropped it off myself as it was a route I travel and they were happy to be awake at 6am in the morning :p
I keep checking every now and again for a bike but I always miss them :(
I take back my love for freecycle...I tried to join the group for the area I can travel to, because I live in the middle of nowhere. but I was rejected application as there is a group closer to me. Unfortunatly said group has about 2 members. grrr

tried them a few weeks ago when we had a vgc single bed with nearly new mattress, plus storage, all duvets sheets and single bedding. I rang them and e mailed them, no-one got back to me even though I rang twice, so in the end the bed man took it away when he bought our new double and all the bedding has gone to Save The Children
good idea, just not all as good as others

Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,609 groups with 5,843,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!
