Hi all! I just joined this team today. Realizing I needed to be here a long time ago, but even moreso with the stress of the holiday season.
Well, I'm a crafter so I will crochet, scrapbook, or sew for the most part. But when I'm not feeling so creative I make a hot cup of tea and sit at my laptop looking for motivation in places like this. Brushing my teeth also helps me. Who doesn't love that clean fresh feeling in their mouth?
Unfortunately, I love to cook & love hanging out in my kitchen. So I'll either clean, organize some recipes, or make something healthy that will not be ready to eat for a good few hours.
Why choose failure when success is an option? If you want to change your body, you must first change your mind.

I occupy my hands! Fold laundry, crochette, write out Christmas cards (good this time of year), write my grocery list... anything to keep myself from straying to the kitchen. If all else fails, I drink a huge glass of water or make myself some tea.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Go to the motivational section of this website. Then if it's daytime I workout/go for a walk. If it's too close to bed time to get that pumped up, I just go to bed! When all else fails, I SLOWLY eat fruit or air popped popcorn. That's what I do to keep from boredom binging; emotional eating is a different critter. The other night I had to put on some sad music and just cry. Then I blogged about it. I've almost got a whole month without binging under my belt!

Although, I have never tried this, I might add things in like: give myself a manicure (it's hard to eat with wet nails), write a letter (even if it is to myself, explaining all the reasons I am working on being healthier), make a list of all my attributes, pick up a soduku, crossword, or other game book, Good luck
I am following the advise from another spark member who suggested to fill out a little piece of paper with an activity on it(ex. read a book, go for a walk etc) and put it in the jar and when you fill like a binge is going to happen go to the jar and pull out the suggestion... ...ok so i am going to get this jar going so i need some suggestions...i feel the more suggestions the busier i will be and the less snacking will happen...
