Hi Cheryl :

Tomatoes while very good for you, as loaded with lycopene are one of the veggies with a higher carb content ( sugar content ).

I am from Italian descent and must have literally eaten a 1,000 pounds of tomatoes in my lifetime. You know perhaps it is not even the tomatoes at all, or perhaps I just had a few too many in combination of non stop sugarfree gum, which is still quite sweet.

I have been avoiding Splenda too to avoid any sugar triggering.

Will not weigh myself today, nor will I test my sugar levels, I want to have a day out and give myself a break. I have learned something so will not beat myself up, a behavior that comes far too easily to me.

And, Vickie, I have a question for you -- why do eating too many tomatoes have the effect of setting off carb cravings for you? I'm just curious as I alway love to learn new things. The gum I can understand, but why the tomatoes?

OMG - DISASTER LAST NITE !!!!!!!!!!!!! 1.

I had a 'mini' binge. What I mean by mini, is that formerally I had no problem having a binge that could be 7,000 calories if not more, so last nite was nothing to that.

I already know what happened, it was not emotional at all, but purely physical.

I have been vegetarian low carbing since Tuesday and saw my blood sugar plummet by 47 points which is brilliant, but think perhaps the constant sugar free gum was setting off carb cravings, and I think perhaps too many tomatoes.

Anyhow this mini binge consisted of a peanut butter and jam sandwich, half a KitKat bar and a small bag of potato chips.

Today no gum, no tomatoes. I am glad it happened, as I have learned more about my body now.

How wonderful that you had the perfect walking partner, Dee! Love it!!!

I'd say I did about an 8. Did my cardio, strength and basics exercises. But, I still could have made a few different food choices all within my range but just think I could have chosen healthier food choices.

I'd say a 7. I should have used more self-control when it came to my food choices. I was within my limits but just wish I wouldn't just grab when it comes to certain foods! My willpower was weak yesterday.

I think I did a 9! Ate healthy, got in my super great noon walk and stayed positive, even though the stress was at a high point -- I kept my determination up and I did it!

I took a day off! Even though there were piles of work to be done in the house, i took my girls and hit the lake. It was just what I needed and I ate right!! Had a little blip at the end of the day, but even that wasn't as bad as it could have been. So...out of 10 (10 being perfect) I would say, 9!

It's time to reward yourself and see you're progress by giving yourself the points YOU feel you earned by eating well, getting in those physical activities and saying "NO" to those nasty urges to snack or binge or even controlling the emotions that may cause you to binge! (1 being --you totally bombed out or 10 -- you did it!)

Do not be too hard on yourself -- realize how well you really are doing and pat yourself on the back for doing it!

And, even by signing on Sparks -- you deserve a few points -- because you are determined to get to that goal -- and that's the best!!! So, maybe I should say NO 1's allowed -- because everyone here is working on their healthier lifestyle and doing it beautifully!! Keep it up -- it's the best!
