I also love James Patterson. Step On A Crack was great. I have read a lot of his books.

Carol from Southwest Utah. Sing your own special music . Sing your own special song. Sing your own special music, even if nobody else sings along.

Sing, sing a song,
Make it simple to last your whole life long.
Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear.
Just sing, sing a song.

I'm glad you found it. I am almost finished with book 2 in the series, Southern Storm.
Enjoy

I haven't read the Pillars of the Earth -- but, MNTRIBBLE, I found the book "Cape Refuge" while I was volunteering at our Church's thrift shop -- so I'm adding that one to my list to read! Thanks for the referral and what a coincidence I found it! I remembered the name -- and got lucky! It cost be a whole $.99!

I am currently reading The Pillars of the Earth - an older Oprah Book club book...wow!

It's a big book but it's very good. A lot of parellels for me.

The short version is it's a story of a builder that wants to build a cathedral. It's about the process he goes through.

I don't think I've ever read that one, MNJTRIBBLE! I'll have to check it out some time.

And, I just loved your post as how your little boy just runs to check out his videos, etc. I can just imagine -- but it's been quite a few years since my son was 3 (he's 16 now), but I remember those days. It's so fun watching them find their books, etc., and they usually hold them so tight to their chests like they found a treasure! Thanks for your post -- brings back the memories of my days with my son.

I just finished "Double Minds" by Terri Blackstock a great Christian writer. I am now reading her refuge series, book one "Cape Refuge". I go to the library and check out the books, that way I don't have to spend any money on them and my 3 year old son loves it. We got him his library card last week, so now he checks out a video every week. It is so sweet to see him running up to the counter with his video in his little hand. We also rent movies there, most are free, but on $2 if you have to pay.

That sounds great. I don't have any extra money to buy books right now. I just finished The Audacity of Hope by Pres. Obama and it was excellent.

One religious book I read years ago and would love to get a copy again was "God on a Harley" It was so good and was about giving up all your "stuff" and living a much simpler life.

Did you read the Tim LaHaye 's Left Behind seies? I loved them all.

I do like to read and I just finished "The Shack" which is a great book! I would recommend it you are into religious-themed books -- it's a bit different than I thought it would be, but everyone could possibly intrepret it in their own way -- makes us think about forgiveness and situations where we have no control over and why bad things happen to good people - or so it seems. That's all I'm going to tell you -- read it if you can and come back and tell us what you thought. Thanks!
