Thanks! Rodeo moves in at the end of the month. We are going to ask the vet for her opinion as well. We would like to hold off getting him fixed we have a friend who has a female chocolate lab (also AKC) and we were thinking of Puppies! Not now and not in my apartment, but eventually. I guess I will see what happens and decide after a while. P.S please don't reply telling me not to breed becasue too many dogs are looking for homes, I know! Not trying so sound mean, it is just an answer I get alot! These puppies are well cared for and we always take them back if someone has a problem with them, (it has happened twice) and we always check up on them! Again thanks for the info we shall see what works!

I would definetly give it a try. I also agree you should have him neutered. As long as he gets exercise, I don't think it will be a problem for him. He'll adjust. It's more important to have his family with him instead of strangers.

Hello everyone! My name is Bridget and this is a kind of long story. My family has always had dogs. Either Labs or Golden Retrievers (both amazing dogs). We have always had two dogs and lots of puppies that end up well taken care of and we get lots of pictures from their new homes for years to come. I moved in with my boyfriend and I missed My dog Sassy (golden) who was about 12 and Rodeo (3yom black lab) so much. Sassy was very old for a Golden and about two weeks ago we had to get her put down. My parents are getting divorced and my mom is moving out at the end of the month. She cannot take Rodeo where she is going, and she is worried about him because he has never been without Sassy. She wants me to take Rodeo (remember 3 years old, not fixed). My boyfriend loves him, and we can have dogs in our apartment. I am just worried because Rodeo is used to South Jersey living: 2 acres of land, no leash, lots of room to run. I now live in an apartment in North Jersey no yard, and the leash is gonna have to come out. I am wondering what you guys think of the situation. Can Rodeo (the name goes with his attitude) be happy and not so depressed living with me? He would not really be alone. My boyfriend works nights, I work days, and he would get between 2 and three long walks a day. Plus whenever we go to my dad's house or Mike's (bf) parents house we would bring him and he would get to run a bit more. Let me know what you think!
