Welcome to SparkPeople Toni. I'm have Diabetes II. I have been with SparkPeople since the middle of May, 2013. Since being with Spark, I have lost a few sizes, approximately 22#, brought my cholesterol and triglycerides well back into the normal zone, and have been able to get off my Metformin. So, you see, I'm proof that it can be done!!! Not everybodoes body and/or makeup is the same so some may take longer than others to lose weight etc so don't let yourself get discouraged. I, however, have a very slow metabolism whereas my husband has a very fast metabolism. My advice to you would be to track your nutrition and fitness/exercise daily, drink your 8+ glasses of water, tea, coffee etc etc daily. It is very important that you get your 8 hours of sleep a night to help you lose weight - - yes, it does help you lose weight!! Be good to yourself - - if you should happen to have a "bad" day as we all do from time to time, forgive yourself - - that is very important!! Just get back up and get back on track - - keep on going!! Don't let yourself get discouraged; afterall, we are all human. We are here to hold each other up and yet be accountable as well. We are all here to encourage one another. By all means, don't be afraid to ask questions!! We will do our best to answer them etc etc. Look over the different "tabs" on the Spark page - - there are a lot of good reciies, exercise videos, chats/teams on various subject, challenges etc. There's a lot of good info in Spark.
