Oh my..... some of those are downright scary, only because I've actually seen fridges like that! One of my friends actually has a minimalist type fridge - he doesn't have much besides soda, water, some condiments, maybe a few other things. He likes looking at other people's fridges though, & whenever he's at mine, he always opens the door... closes it... opens it... closes it... opens it... then says "what are you, animals?!" ;) Let's just say there are lots and LOTS of fresh produce, mostly veggies, dairy alternative milks, eggs, yogurt, butter, some condiments.

Oh, man.... I have lots of healthy fruits and veggies in there now. No more junk.
But I keep finding something hidden that has become a science experiment.
An expensive experiment...

threw almost everything out of fridge-freezer when I returned home after being out due to the power being out during the evacuation and I am re-stocking very carefully. It has never looked so good!

I have two refrigerator /freezers one in my kitchen and one in the laundry room. It is a long story how I ended up with two, as a single household but I use both. The spare fridge/freezer is used for sale items and more non perishable items and my main fridge I use for fresh produce and more perishable foods. I do cook extra meals, so the extra freezer comes in handy!

Too much. I never seem to have enough space. I recently ran across a chart on how & where to store food. I'll put the source address here if I can ever find it again. One good hint was to put cilantro & similar greens, in a glass of water like a boquet & keep in refer.

Let the good times increase as the weight shrinks.

I JUST cleaned out the fridge a few hours ago since my guests have all gone. Discarded lots of junkier foods but need to re-stock with my favored organic foods. Right now I have organic milk, organic OJ, lots of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, organic apple sauce, organic carrots and gala apples, gold potatoes, bread and various (mostly organic) condiments and dressings. The freezer(s) is/are full of chicken breasts, frozen salmon, "clean" ground beef and a couple of grass-fed steaks.

When cleaning out the fridge, I discovered four home-made chocolate chip cookies that the kids somehow missed while they were here.

Sadly, I was not able to resist and ate two. I can throw away a lot of foods, but that's not one of them. emoticon

Well, let's see. The freezer has a small chicken, ground turkey, tilapia and skinless chicken thighs along with some frozen veggies and Eggos. Fridge = OJ, 1% milk, diet A&W, diet Schwepes gingerale, water, lettuce and tomato, Borden's fat free sharp cheddar and pepper jack cheese and a small piece of water melon.

Well my leftovers are about gone or ready to be thrown out so its pretty empty now. Outside the normal, milk, cooking sauces, stables that I keep like ketchup. Relish and the like. I actually need to go shopping tomorrow for some fresh stuff I need to cook. I have found if I go without cooking I don't eat properly and will fall into old habits. I refuse to do that so off to the grocery store tomorrow.

I've been cooking this weekend. Lots of fresh vegetables, milk, yogurt, eggs, water, quiche, stuffed bell peppers, canned chicken with mixed vegetables, quinoa with black beans etc, condiments, pudding, berries, cheese and ham. I think that's about it.

I try to make sure that I buy good stuff and use it up. right now I have leftovers from my dd, who is the best one to do the cooking around here. She is teaching me a lot, with her vegetarian, adventurous cooking. I tend to be a creature of habit.

As to the HuffPost post ... I think ours is the messier cousin to "Possibly The Best Looking Fridge We've Seen" ... same sorts of things, but just a bit more clutter. Especially our bag of greens on the bottom shelf.

No mold, at least!

Haha that's funny! I have food, mold, mushy unidentifiable stuff. But seriously I have milk, OJ, lowfat and nonfat cottage cheese, lunchmeat (for my hubby), jelly, ketchup, mustard, mayo (lowfat), and lettuce, grapes and potatoes. Oh yeah, bread and tortillas. Bread in the fridge because we live in Missouri and everything molds or rots right away if you don't refrigerate it.

Mostly good stuff...fresh veggies and parsley, lowfat yogurt, skim milk, pickles (a MUST), eggs and one giant chocolate eclair cake that DD made this week (her spring break).

This is so funny and so true!

My roommate and I separate the fridge into two halves to keep our stuff. She's a vegetarian, non-dessert eating, thin, active, healthy, and on a budget. Before I started my weight-loss journey, the divide was clear. She would have a 3 bean salad in there, a bunch of produce, 3 cartons of soymilk, locally brewed beer, and leftover lentils or whatever she had made for dinner the night before. My side would consist of two types of juices, six take-out boxes, 4 types of cheese, and various types of week-old pasta with creamy sauce. Now our sides are sort of muddled. We fight over the crisper for all of our greens, we're constantly asking whose tomatoes are whose, there isn't enough room on top of the fridge for all of our bananas, and last night we made curried lentils together and then split it up to eat later! It's a nice change.

I actually took a picture of mine for the SparkPeople on (something for a DailySpark Blog maybe a week or two ago). It's not that bad, even given that it's three different people's food shelves.

Some of those ... definitely amusing.
