very good support group,I had a colonoscopy last week and lost weight,only water but still was an improvement.I sometimes eat the little banquet dinners for lunch and so I can have some food late in the day for dinner.I too need to lose quite a bit of weight so am really counting calories and trying to eat more sensibly!Dr.told me I have diverticulosis and need to eat more fiber so will add more fiber to my diet also.
Just like a toddler learning to walk it's normal to stumble and fall down. And get back up again and again and again, etc. So don't beat yourself up over a small misstep. Just start again. Otherwise you start feeling guilty and thinking of giving up altogether. So forgive yourself and get back in the game. If you haven't already heard about Indygirl I suggest you find her Spark page and read her blogs. She started out over 400# and has lost 180#. She has really helped motivate me. Keep going Bev. I know you (and I) can achieve our goals as long as we persevere and support each other.
I did it once - I can do it again. 75% of our eating is caused by our subconscious; so it's mind over matter.
Hang in there. Sometimes the scale lies depending on your cycle, how much salt you ate, and how much activity you have been doing. Have you had an NSV's lately? (Nonscale Victories) such as feeling more fit or being able to shop in your closet?
Keep pushing forward! You will make it to your goal if you inch forward a bit at a time.
You should think of this as a lifestyle change and not pay so much attention to the scale. I try and only weigh myself once a week at the very most. It's not so much the numbers on the scale but the changes you're feeling. Hang in there.
i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 34 pounds .
i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.
it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.
i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.
you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.
I have gone from 198 to 164 pounds. i can now fit into a size 14 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 22 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.
one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth
i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt GREAT.
Don't give up. I am also having a hard time. I have gain some of my weight back. Now starting again. We all have up and downs, Still learning on potions size. I think that is my biggest mistake and not exercising. Remember that we shouldn't just look at the scale, but how our clothes fit and how we feel. So keep working and it will look better next week.
