Welcome to the team and I hope you stick with Sparks as it is a great place to lose the blues!

This is definitely the place to go to make some changes! Go slowly, use the trackers and it will all fall into place.
I noticed you haven't yet set up your SparkPage. I highly recommend this as it really does help you become a part of the community. If you're not sure, check out a few pages and see what folks are up to. Also, you can make it private if you wish.

hello & welcome to the team it does seem you are having a hard time but i think in time i will get better and now that you have joined this team you will make all kinds of nice friends here good luck to you on your goals..
Welcome to our team!
You have been through SO much in less than a year...losing your husband, moving, health issues. It's so smart to think about taking care of yourself. It can be hard to cook for yourself, but you'll feel so much better if you eat well. I saw my mother's health quickly decline when she quit cooking and resorted to frozen entrees.
CONTENTATLAST had some great advice - check out several teams and you're sure to find a great fit for you and tons of support.

Hi! I'm brand new here and I don't even know if I'm writing in the correct place.
I live in Northern Virginia (NoVA), in Woodbridge. I have been a widow for 16 months and I need to start taking care of myself. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, glaucoma... I guess I'm kind of a mess. I take meds for all those things, plus meds for depression. The meds keep everything in order, but I'd like to lose at least 50 pounds and stop taking the meds.
I am very lonely and trying to make friends... which is hard to do when you're over 60. I should have moved into one of those retirement communities, but instead I moved into a new gated community that has all kinds of people. I thought that would be pleasanter and the retirement communities would depress me. So I've made friends with the 27 year old who lives in the condo above mine!
In the last year I have been in the hospital for pneumonia and had surgery for a torn meniscus. I was NEVER sick when I wasn't widowed. I know I need to start taking care of MYSELF. I hope this is the place to help me do it!
