Thank you for the comments guys. I enjoyed helping her with it. I was in college last year, so I didn't get the chance to help out. About the Gravy: We are losing weight so we don't make gravy or fry. And my parents and I don't eat the guts. Thank you for the suggestions though. Hope you are all well and that you have a good day! Congrats on your 1st turkey.
I've used the giblets in gravy as my mom did but I boil it now for my pets, pore juice over dry food & the outside cat gets the neck & the rest the dogs get as treats....
Have a great day.

Congrats on your first turkey!

I just put the heart, neck and gizzard in the roasting pan with the turkey (I love the neck for a nosh). I can't stand liver in ANY form, so I bag and toss it.

Boil the neck and giblets until done and use broth for gravy with taters. Chop up the liver for use in the stuffing. Then you have no blood and guts to mess up the garbage can.

By the way, good job on your first turkey.

I wanted to report that I helped mom cook the Turkey this year for Thanksgiving. It didn't turn out too bad. We sprinkled smoked paprika on it. It was delicious. Only bad thing is, I learned what happens when you don't bag the blood and guts up before you throw it away. You guessed it, the bag caved in and I had blood and guts all in the bottom of the garbage can. It was so fun cleaning that up. I will never do that again as long as I live! lol
Hope you are all well have a good day! Holly
