I had minnestrone soup with turkey breast chunks. I've also recently noticed that my consumption of salt is not good. I will be more careful of my frozen food choices from here on out. I'm learning a lot about nutrition here...and apparently I still have a lot to learn. Inch..by inch... lol

I've been checking the labels on all types of tv dinners, and other frozen dishes with meat in them. They all have so much sodium that I just put them back down! Check out the "lean" dinners and see which ones you can have to stay within your sodium limit!

Do you find too much salt in TV dinners. I use to eat them all the time and my doctor said check out the SALT.

No turkey left overs here. emoticon Today, I'm back to regular work week. I had brown rice, black-eyed peas, sweet peas and a banana.

K, threw the rest of the turkey in the freezer (dun wanna hear the "t" word for many months), finished the stuffing last night.... am also having fantasies of salad greens, chopped apples, tomatoes... and nice balsamic dressing... the very idea of melted cheese is making my skin crawl. Not been to the gym in 5 days...my stationary bike is still in the closet because the Thanksgiving table didn't get removed until tonite... gotta put it all back together again..lol... and everything was so worth it. :-) I'm so happy Christmas is not held at my house !! But had a wonderful time, hope all of you did as well.

Ohhhh I was getting so tired of Thanksgiving leftovers! Not just because I'd had so much of them, but because they were killing my diet. (I visited my brother's family for the holiday, and the only veggies they had for Thanksgiving were sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes!) I was actually craving something green.

So I made sure to start my drive home today well before lunch ... and stopped for a salad with grilled chicken on the way back.

I've been adding a bit of variety. Here lately rather than a sandwich, I've taken whole grain rice and black-eyed peas (sometimes I add sweet peas). Today, I had asian noodles with teriyaki sauce with chicken, broccoli, and carrots (I added the chicken and veggies fresh).

I'm trying to find things other than a sandwich which gets old after awhile.

Lunch is when I usually try to get my veggies & fruits in: (raw)baby carrots, cauliflower, grapes, apples, celery & lowfat peanut butter with raisins. Sometimes a few nuts or seeds, and yogurt. Totally satisfying!

I have been making this for lunch since I was in the 7th grade.

1 can cream of mushroom
1 can mushrooms
1 can skim milk
1 can peas no juice
1 can tuna fish
2 whole grain bread toasted

Cook until warm after you add all the cans together. Toast the bread. Serve enough to cover the toast save the rest until another day.
