While in Sausalito yesterday, looking for a place to have dinner, we wandered into a Mexican restaurant called Copita. I was skeptical that I could safely eat there, but on the bottom of the menu were the magic words, "Today's Menu is Gluten Free". I asked, and indeed, almost everything on their menu is gluten free, most days!
After my unhinged jaw returned to its normal position, we were seated and ordered dinner. I ordered a trio of tamales and an order of Mexican rice with butternut squash and pepitas. The three small tamales were each different flavors, lovely and delicate, just the right amount of food for me. I'm such a fool for butternut squash, the rice was delectable. Instead of chips and salsa, as we perused the menu a bowl of jicama and cucumber sticks seasoned with chile and lime were placed on the table. Oh, heavens that was tasty!
I didn't log food yesterday, had no idea how to manage that. BUT... I enjoyed the meal, and even allowed myself a SMALL order of dark chocolate peppermint ice cream from ColdStone, when we stopped there on the way home.
I guess I'm learning to eat like normal weight people do. And gluten free, too.
