emoticon WEEZYB for that information about McDonalds FF's. I never realized that. I am certainly going to be more cautious.

gluten is everywhere, so it's always good to ask. Imagine my surprise when I discovered mcDonald's uses flour when freezing their fries, so they don't stick together!!! If that chain does, then I assume they all do, so no french fries for me - even if they were in my calorie limit.

Glad you posted a response here Trish, somehow I never got CELIACBAKER's response post. Yesterday I was looking for a gluten free puffed rice or corn flakes but couldn't find any at my market. I would love to find corn flakes for a change.

I love their corn flakes. It's a nice change of pace for breakfast when I have had scrambled eggs one too many times.

Nancy, regular Corn Flakes do have gluten. A lot of the cereals (like Rice Krispies) have barley malt in them, which makes them unsafe for those on a GF diet. However, you can buy GF cornflakes (they just cost more).

I know this is probably a stupid question and I should know the answer, but I don't - Do Corn Flakes have gluten?

The Mesa Sunrise cereal is ok. I like to use it crushed up as a breading for chicken.

I love the Mesa Sunrise cereal, and for hot cereal, I like Bob Redmill's Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal, it's pretty filling, and great with some cinnamon, stevia and raisins added to it.

What about Cream of Rice? I get that at Publix but I am sure that you can find it at other stores that are in your area. I also get an organic oatmeal that has flax seeds in and it is very tasty.

Either name is fine. Most people call me Kathy, but on a couple of teams, there are a number of ladies with that name. My mom always called me Kate when I was little. Since visiting Ireland a number of times, I guess I've grown to like it more. But, I registered as Kathy on this team, so...
As for hot cereal, I bought some GF oats and buckwheat. Both are yummy. Also I've tried teff, but it's too high in fiber for me to eat a cereal size serving. I like it though.
I'm tired of Chex, except for the cinnamon ones, which I use for a treat sometimes.

I don't know if it is nationwide, but our Costco is carrying a oz31 box of Mesa Sunrise cereal for $679, I think. It's so expensive in the little boxes that I've not bought it. But, I really like cereal some mornings.
