I make hemp milk and it's the kids favorite. It's more expensive than making almond milk so I switch it up. Your Hot Chocolate sounds yummy.

Wow - that sounds good. I found some organic candy canes - no corn syrup or artificial colors - that I will use to stir my hot chocolate to add the peppermint flavor.

I am going to try to make hot cocoa w/my protein powder.

I'll use hemp milk (thick and creamy rich in omega oils), protein powder, cocoa, stevia maybe a little agave nectar and if that tastes ok then I'll add a shot of my FAVORITE flavoring peppermint schnapps.

Oh, that really gives a Kick to your hot cocoa!

I occasionally indulge in GF pretzels. They are pretty good and probably not a bad idea to pick up a bag to snack on at the New Years Party we are attending.

The nutrients are similar to my rice powder - 12 gm protein, 52 calories, fat-free. Since I don't eat eggs, that one isn't an option to me but being that it's gf, it's a great piece of information to know about.

They had gf pretzels on sale at my regular grocery store today for $1.00 a bag. That's actually cheaper than the wheat ones. I bought just one bag because sometimes the clearance stuff tastes old or rancid. They taste pretty good so I sent my son out to get more.

I have been using a 100% egg protein powder for almost a year and am VERY happy with it. It is high in protein 24g, no fat, no carbs, 106 calories, no sugar.

It has the highest amts of nutrients w/o adding fat and carbs. I do that myself!

I make a shake w/water, protein powder, baked sweet potato, ground flaxseeds, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and stevia. It tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass! Wonderful.

I have not yet made it w/cocoa powder but am thinking of doing so. When I do I will add some almond/rice or hemp milk to make it thicker and creamier.

Here is where I buy mine, in fact I just bought some today. They have the best price I have found so far.

I am in love with the nutribiotic protein powder. I like the plain kind - mix it with my fruit smoothie almost every day. The kids prefer the vanilla flavored one. 12 grams protein - 58 calories = SCORE big!

My Nutribiotics rice protein has 12 g. of protein for a heaping Tablespoon serving so that sounds very similar.

Thanks for all of the ideas, ladies. I found concentrated Brown Rice Protein Powder on www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx
?s
s=1&Ntk=products&Ntt=gluten%20free%2R>0protein%20powder
(I don't know if that link worked or not, never tried it before. It has 11 g protein in 1 Tbl serving. Would that be a good one to try?

Thanks,
Becky :0)

especially if you buy it unflavored, toss it in everything! I used to love putting a scoop into my yogurt in the mornings. It worked well in smoothies for me, too!

I was looking for a Vegan GF version, will have to check out the suggestions here.

I've used whatever it they sell at Costco, comes in vanilla and chocolate so have used it in smoothies. I'm a chocolate snob and prefer the vanilla.
I just throw some of the powder, frozen berries and some juice and/or yogurt in the blender and blend it up. or fresh fruit and some ice.
FYI My Dr approved of me doing fruit smoothies w/protein powder and he wants me eating lots of protein and little fruit.

I use the rice protein powder and mostly put it into smoothies. A friend of mine sprinkles it on her soup. She says it tastes like crackers in the soup but I havent tried it that way yet. I have also used hemp protein powder in my smoothies.

Does anyone use a good GF protein powder? I've never used it before but I'm coming up short on protein most days...do you just use it for smoothies or can you put it in other dishes too?

Thanks!
Becky
