I've also had gluten reactions to Tums. I noticed they're now saying they can't guarantee that their vendors ingredients aren't gluten-free. I stopped using them and my symptoms went away. So you might want to be careful about that.
Thanks everyone! I will be on the look out for gluten-free beer! I tried your different ideas but time was the best helper... it took about 5 days to be out of pain!
I had not been "officially" diagnosed celiac until the end of last week but had been avoiding it previously because of suspicion... now that i have the official diagnosis and painful experiences from cheating, i am ready to face this full force!
This is NOT medical advice: When I am bloated it helps to eat a simple meal that is high in protein along with some relatively low carb vegetables. My favorite meal is salmon and asparagus. Turkey and green beans would also work for me. Fruit just seems to add to the bloating. Exercise also helps if I am not in pain. I wish you the best.

This weekend I decided that one beer "couldn't hurt" but boy was I wrong! Since my Friday night beer, my stomach has been so distended that I decided to measure it today to see if it was all in my head. My waist is measuring 4 inches more than when I measure myself on Thursday! WHOOA!
I know that it will just take a few days to go away but it is painful and noticeable AND I'm going to the beach tomorrow for a week! I really don't want to look 4 months pregnant all week in a bathing suit! Does anyone have suggestions for what could help speed up the process of going back to normal???
I've been eating lots of fruit, popping Tums and drinking peppermint tea but no relief! I'll try anything at this point!! Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!!
