First and foremost, my children. I have a son in San Francisco. He's totally disabled and lives with his dad, but still manages to be the fastest girl-chaser in the Greater Bay Area! And I have a little red-haired angel girl in Heaven. She was with me for only a month after her birth, but given how feisty and opinionated she was, I don't doubt for a minute that she's keeping Sts. Peter and Patrick hopping!
I'm passionate about my Irish heritage. I'm sick to death of the stereotype that we're nothing but lazy, rowdy drunks. Ireland has an incredibly rich heritage of music, poetry, drama and graphic art. Ireland had the spine to win her freedom after 700 years of foreign occupation, and the Irish were a force in the building of three nations, one of them the United States. Our President is even part-Irish (from the same County as my family!).
I'm also passionate about cooking, football, knitting, movies, music...
I'm betting you're sorry you asked right about now!
"...there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."
"We're children of a fighting race that never yet has known disgrace." (The Soldiers' Song, Irish national anthem)
"Every day above ground is a good day." (Chef Justin Kennedy of New Orleans, on Chopped)
