I took this off the "STICKY NOTE" after talking with Patty.
It seems a little confusing for some and duplicate really of the other thread.

SO please continue to post ALL DAY and Night in the

Sounds like a real bumpy ride your having. I'm not sure what all is going on in your life but with holidays and such it can be hard. Since you did well the first half of the month, that could be one of the reasons.

My first thoughts are to go back to the basics "FAST BREAK".
Log everything, set daily/week goals, post more to teams.

One thing that I talk with my doctor about, because of my own difficult time losing. He suggested that my body now requires a more intense workout. Making sure that I reach a higher heart rate than what I have been used to. Also fo a longer time, even 5 minutes. Change the type of cardio also, continueing to do the exact same thing, we get bored and tend to decrease without even realizing it.

Keep hanging in there.... We are here to help.

PJ,
Relax--you'll get back on track--you just need to regain your focus. Go back and read your blogs--I'll bet you'll find your answers there. If you can, try increasing your fluid intake. It will fill you up and help flush out any water build up we ladies are prone to having. You can do this--you've done it before and you know how to do it again. Just relax--take a deep breath and take it one meal at a time.

Good Evening Walkers!
It's been very quiet here tonight. I'm thinking many of us went out shopping or we are still enjoying the leftovers from our dinners yesterday. I did both of these today. I decided not to run to visit my son today--they will be having plenty of excitement and visitors today anyway--everyone is coming to see the newest family addition. The poor little "big brother" is having a tough time of it. My son says he is just "wild" and somewhat overstimulated. He brought him to us yesterday just to give him a bit of down time. I haven't heard from them today so I'm hoping they got some much needed rest--like tht will happen with a newborn and a toddler in the house.
I did a bit of shopping today--but I refused to go all out for the "black Friday" deal. I was actually surprised with myself for going out at all--
I'm laying low on the exercise today. I have a bit of a cold and some digestive upset. This will be another rest day, I guess.
Good night all--and for those of you who DO Black Friday, I hope you scored some great bargains. If you braved the crowds, you earned them!

Today seemed to fly right by. My weighin today was not so great. The scale moved the wrong direction by 1 pound.

I'm not upset about the gain, I am going to use it as a sign that something is changing finally. Now, working on getting it to move the other direction next week. Maybe thats what I needed to push me over to work even harder.

While I worked out each this week, I was checking my heart rate. I notice that it is not getting up in the 70%+ range very much any more. This shows that I have improved and now need to work harder to achieve more. A GOOD THING!

today did all those things you have to do when you come back home. Visited with my brother and then stopped at mom. She was out decorating for Christmas, she still had the fall leaves on the window ledges and christmas bows on the walkway railing, snowflake lights from the roof hanging down, and pumpkins in the flower pots.

Got to love the holiday enthusiasm she still has. Each year she says this is my last year to decorate outside.

Safety tip for those of you who use WATP with the waist band. Make sure those clips are secure. Mine snapped off while I was doing chest presses and I now have a large, painful welt on my arm and an open wound where the clip snapped onto it.

PJ,
I did notice your phrasing "anniversary NIGHT outfit" and "Cute LITTLE ditty", but I wasn't going to say anything about it perhaps being, not something you wear ---err--in public--but you did bring it up---

Looking forward to the picture of that "dress?" emoticon

Cat!
I remember the first time I was able to zip up a pair of jeans (after 26 years, at least) and wear a belt. I do tend to use the belt for decorative purposes. My pedometer works best when I hook it onto the pocket of my jeans so the pedometer sits on my hip bone.
Congratulations of needing that belt! Soon you will just have to give in and buy yourself some smaller sized clothing!

can't wait to see the dress.
discovered my belt has a purpose today...
I bought new clothes this past September, and a pair of pants came with a belt. I now wear my belt most days I wear pants that have belt loops, (I find my ped doesn't count too accurate when I wear it on some jeans, but it does on my belt) I was doing my belt up and noticed my pants were loose and so I was able to move down to the next whole on my belt... they are no longer decorative... it's doing it's job... LOL

Hey there PJ!
The trauma of being a grandparent happened with the first one--the older brother of the soon (please, soon?!) baby. I will be twice blessed!

I noticed you had lost that weight again. Good for you. You are active just in life so I'm guessing that may have helped a lot and today, you were practically perfect.

Your anniversary plan sounds very romantic. You'll have to post a picture of yourself in that cute little dress you plan to wear. I am looking forward to seeing it!

Catch ya later!

lol... wanting a grandchild already Patty? Didn't they just get married? Oh but I can understand. I'm actually looking forward to becoming a grandma one of these days. ha ha ha and I still have a 7 yr old baby of my own at home.

So anyway... last week didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped... but I did manage (by some miracle) to get back down to 172. Today went great however. Almost perfect except I didn't eat any fruit.

I realized yesterday that my 1 year anniversary is shortly arriving. We are going back to our little cabin in Eureka Springs Arkansas to celebrate. That is where we got married and we plan to go back every year for our anniversary. John had reminded me that it was time to get our reservations in. So that got me to thinking about a new anniversary night outfit. Yeah so I went shopping online and found a cute little ditty that I want. LOL... and I want to be within the healthy range by then. Soooo here I am at 172 and I need to be below 154 by February 9th!

Baked and cooked today. Did an exercise video, Leslie Sansone, of course. Caught up a dozen other things. It was a good day. Just had a, last for the night, cup of coffee. Now need to get ready for bed. David working days this week turns our normal
"routine" all backwards, but I love the days instead of him on nights.

Hope everyone's well!

now you have me in tears too. I can feel the pride and sadness you are feeling. My children didn't play in college, but from 5th grade to graduation. Pep bands SYmphonic and Jazz. The Senior year was hard, they do the same type of thing. Calling each name as they come forward and they line up in front of the band. Each of them holding the next ones hand in place of thier instrument. You could see tears in all of their eyes and each parent.

I had a very busy, fun day--also bittersweet as well. My 2nd son will be graduating from college this June (after 5 years) and today was the "goodbye" celebration for all the seniors in the UMASS Minuteman marching band--he is a tuba section leader. I loved watching him grow up at college and mature from a teen to the fine young man he is today and I am so proud of him. I also loved being a parent watching him "play" on the football field not only during the actual band performance/show but also when all the "tuba's"(the devilish members of the band) go together for merry mischief making. It was fun to watch and I was proud of him. Today, I watched him and the other seniors (many of whom I know) in the band stand aside from the rest of the band who would continue on. The underclassmen played music for them and played tribute pieces, the band director talked about the dedication of the graduating seniors--it was all wonderful.. What brought tears to my eyes was the group hug the graduating tuba players gave to each other--support, caring and love--so evident and so touching. And, these are large tubas--the instrument weighs over 60 lbs. so these were big, strong kids--bittersweet--They are proud of what they have done and will continue to do into the postseason (yep, likely, UMASS won tday)--but this was the last regular show they would do. I will miss watching them--it's the end of an era for this band parent as well. I only have one more band student left now--my youngest. Pride, sorrow--bittersweet.

We've been very lazy today. Done nothing but watch movies, eat meals, and take care of the dogs. It's been one of those days that comes along every few months. I think it's the bodies way of catching up. But we'll have to make up for it tomorrow!

Hope everyone had a good Saturday

I'd move it now. You made the weight loss--there are normal fluctuations from day to day. You've been down 3 days in a row--your trend is down. Good for you. As I said, I wouldn't wait but that's just me.

Ok--So I am here to relax, review and chat about my day--which went pretty well, I think. My blood sugar readings are back to where they should be--ten readings with a new meter and new strips did the trick. I'm very happy and relieved about that. I also am on day 3--trying not to eat "junk" (fats) and I'm being sucessful. Right now, I really want a spoonful of peanut butter or just a chuck of butter or cheese but I'm not eating any of them. I'm writing here, feeling stronger while I write here and planning to go right off to bed once I am done. I am done. I hope you all had a great day. I'm off to bed now!

Well she is pretty postive, energetic, a little silly at times. Just the right mix for a WACKY WALKER!

I haven't figured out my totals for today but will and then go post them in the challenge forum. Most of the day went as planned until dinner. Then a off track just a bit. Should be ok.

I have decided that when all else fails to squelch the munchie monster it's time to put myself in a place where I can feed it. I can't entertain more exercise or coffee (decaf) at this point and I am not going to eat so I am going to bed. So, goodnight all! I was looking at all the WooHoo's scrolling across our Huddle board--we did pretty well for our first time out. It's still not too late to get you woohoo in for our first WooHoo Wednesday!
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and support for my feeding frenzy. It really did help!

Pollyana - that is a good word. I had to look it up to confirm it's meaning; Being foolishly or blindly optimistic. I don't see you as being foolish or blindly. That doesn't suite you at all!

But I could believe that maybe your metabolism has slowed down plus the weight loss together! That's my theory (opinion) of why Gemstone is feeling cold! emoticon

I had one lobe and the connecting piece between the two lobes of the thyroid removed nearly 5 years ago. I am on levoxyl a thyroid homone and my levels have been fine. I was told that my remaining thyroid lobe would still be able to function but because the type of cancer I had is apparently "fed" in some way by the natural hormone my lobe would produce, I take levoxyl at a high enough dose to suppress my lobe from functioning and to keep my levels low.

Wow Gemstone, you mentioned of having had thyroid cancer. Did you have the whole gland removed? I have read so much about the gland and it mystifies me as how important it is. But then I hear that we have effective medicine that can help put us back in balance?

I found the site, thanks. I have had a few diverticulitus (sp) attacks. But the antibotic treatments have work in all cases. I like to be informed as much as possible to other ways of dealing with health issues. So thank you for posting this site.

Dorothy,
I had pappilary thyroid cancer. It is fairly common and surgery usually affords a total cure rate. I wonder if diabetes could be impacting my body temperature? I have it pretty well controlled(crosses fingers) but I have permanent neuropathic damage from when I didn't know I had diabetes--maybe that has something to do with it. It could also be the thyroid--I am checked 2x/year--and have an ultrasound with each visit and so far the nodule has remained "benign" (no changes). They found the first cancer by chance--they were looking for something else to explain my symptoms and found a sizeable nodule in my thyroid--the large nodule turned out benign, but what was hidden behind it was not so I dodged a bullet there. They got it all and I take thyroid medication daily to prevent future occurances in the remaining lobe. I'm still thinking that I'm cold because of the weight loss--it's the pollyanna in me.

Okay, well as you can see from my attempts what's coming up, crazy letters that I haven't put in there. So, I guess the system is down and I've contacted Tech Support about it.

I guess until they fix it you'll have to hand type it into your browser.

Sorry!

Hi Dorthy,

SCD stands for Specific Carbohydrate Diet, which is geared for patients with Crohns Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS, Diverticulitis...basically all of the class of digestive diseases known as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.

It's very different from anything anyone is used to eating, but like I said in my post, it's now doable for me. And yes, the food smelled awesome, but taste, OH MY GOSH, THEY WERE GREAT!

I've posted my recipes if you ever get a hankering to try something different. And here's the website if you're interested in seeing what it's all about.

I was just catching up on the morning posts.

Hey there Bobbie!

Christina,
Enjoy your day and half off. I hope you are feeling better. Did you find out the cause of the headaches?

Patty, glad that all you had to do was pick up some tree limbs. Ice storms can be so dangerous in many ways. But the ice formed around tree limbs and fences are so pretty. What type of Thyroid cancer did you have? Since they didn't remove the whole thyroid, I would still have it check, with the cold feeling. The other thing is since my husband diabetes, he is cold more often also.

Lauren
Reading your afternoon post, made me start to salivate. Everything sound so tasty and I could smell the zuchinni lasagna. What is the SCD diet?

Everything went well today, I still need to exercise, but other than that I am back.
