I am just glad to hear that you are enjoying yourself. You have worked so darn hard at everything that you do for yourself and family, that I am glad that you are having fun.

Have you taken any pictures with any of the characters?

If you could chose your favorite to have a picture with, would it be buzz light year or Andy?

I like Jesse and Andy, I would be delighted to photo op with those two. Yeee Haaaw!

Teri,
Have you been to Fort Wilderness before? I stayed in the resort hotels before I got the RV but the day I set foot at FW, I was spoiled forever. I stayed in a tent (small), graduated to a bigger tent, stayed in the cabins there and about 10 years ago, we bought an RV. I would never stay anywhere else when I am going to Disney.
Epcot is amazing and you will love it. Your DH daughter could rent a wheelchair or ECV if she finds walking difficult. There are also plenty of places to just sit and take in the scenery. I have fibromyalgia and when it flares up, I exhaust quickly and I do take frequent rests. I refuse to do the wheelchair though--I learned the stubborness from my mom who had MS and refused to go to the wheelchair until she absolutely couldn't walk anymore. I watched her struggle and her determination to stay ambulatory on her own. I've done Disney in a Wheelchair when I fell and tore a few ligaments in my ankle and couldn't walk at all but otherwise, I prefer to just take it slow, enjoy the ambiance and plan out my time that way. Fortunately, my fibro flares have been brief recently. Your husbands daughter should be fine with or without the WC, but it is always an option. You can have the sushi--I love it, but I can't eat it anymore. If you want a real treat, try the fish and chips in Great Britain and take in the Off Kilter show at Canada. The Fish and Chips are not diet friendly so plan accordingly if you decide to try it.

There is no Indiana Jones ride at WDW, that is a Disneyland attraction--at least in this country. WDW has a dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom that is pretty much the same as the Indy ride except it involves dinosaurs and no fire. I love the Indy ride--I like it better than the Dinosaur ride, but both are great. My favorite attraction right now is the Nemo show at the Animal Kingdom. I was grinning from ear to ear the entire show and totally enthralled! For rides, I happen to be partial to buzz lightyear at the Magic Kingdom and I really like the Alien Invasion attraction at Disney Quest. At Epcot, I love test track. I did the space ride both in its original form and in its toned down form. Now you can choose which way you want to experience it. I got motion sickness on both ways but I am glad I went on and did the attraction. It is truly amazing and so very well done. There is a fun little "race" attraction/game as you exit the ride which I really enjoy.
I just love everything about Disney. What can I say?

Gemstone - we're heading to Ft. Wilderness later in January, taking our RV! Wow I need the inside scoop! DH has never been to Epcot so that's our main focus. And our 8th Anniversary! Woohoo! I think his daughter and sil are also coming but that's up in the air right now. She's pregnant and feet are giving her problems so I don't think that the walking that Epcot requires is such a good idea. Don't eat all the sushi in Japan! Leave some for me!!!!!! emoticon

Sassy, how much snow do you currently have on the ground? Do you have to put snow chains on?
I was watching the news last week and I was worried for those who were stuck on the road in the middle of a for hours in the New England States. How do they stay warm enough?

I hope that you are taking lots of pictures to share with us later!
So happy for you to be enjoying the holidays!
Have you been on any rides besides the haunted house that you like?
One of my favorites here is the Indiana Jones ride.
Most type of roller coasters are to fast and jarring for me. Anything slow and moving like the jungle boat ride or it's a small world.

Hi Karen,
I am staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground inside the resort. I love it here and it is the best place to be for outdoor recreation, which I love. I can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach here over at the Fort and actually from my campsite as well. It is a bit obscured at the campsite but I can see it through the trees. On the beach, a clear view and I can even see Cinderella's castle. It's in the 80's today and will be for the next few days. Epcot and Animal Kingdom are my favorite parks so I've been to Epcot already. I went to see the Holiday displays at some of the hotels here. It is by far my favorite activity during the holidays. I saw the new haunted House here--refurbished, fantastic!
I saw the parade from a distance at the park, but I'm not interested in sitting and staking out a place for viewing for a couple of hours so I tend not to bother with the parades much. Heading to the marketplace today to check out the bargains. 2007 themed merchandise is on sale now at 50% off. I went biking this morning and will likely do some more later on today.
That's what happening in my world.

Morning ladies. Had my walk this a.m. for about 30 min. It's a good start. It's hard to get out and walking with the temp at 44. But it's sunny out.

Thanks Christina, I'm using my 'mental' cattleprod on myself! LOL Got my mp3 plugged in and rearranging some brain cells today. There's a 'why wait' thread that helped me to kickstart a little, I just need to get the momentum rolling. I think the holidays were my 'brakes' voluntary or not they did it! I'm working past that now!
I love you guys, you're all the bomdidgittybomb!

Well my lazy arse hasn't walked other than taking the dogs around a bit. I'm trying to jumpstart my program again, but once again spineless Teri has taken over. I know my demon and she is ME! I get mad but still don't step on the gazelle. More excuses than brains! I gotta snap out of this!

I'm excited this morning. I worked extra hard at the gym last night and this morning my 2 pounds plus one are gone! emoticon I know that first two were water weight....maybe all 3 was who knows. I am just relieved that it wasn't a bad gain.

Gemstone, Well that explains how you are getting your walking in! We have a micro copy of Disneyland here in CA., but you can certainly still get your walk in.
Are you staying and watching the firework show? Do they have a nightly parade? How exciting!

Can't wait to get more details of your trip!

What has been your favorite experience so far?

Have you been to the Epcot Center?

You lucky gal, you!

Hi Alex,
Sounds like you did quite well this Christmas with your diet and your exercise. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Karen,
I am actually not at home. My adult son is there as he is home from college and he didn't mention anything about the weather being too bad, but he is a NewEngland boy after all. I am enjoying the warm temps of Central Florida for the Holidays==which is why I have sporadic internet access right now.

looks like we all have been doing pretty well diet and exercise wise--I don't think I phrased that very well--ok, I'm sure I didn't. Hey, I'm on vacation and so is my brain! I am visiting with my friends, Tinkerbell, Snow White, Mickey, etc. I will leave it to you all to figure out where this NewEngland girl is visiting this Christmas!

Hey everyone!

Looks like everyone had a nice Christmas. I did too. I exercised both days and ate what I wanted to eat but my sugar range is still great..of course, I didn't eat any sugar but I mean other stuff I like. I had tamales, which I love and some fried chicken that I made myself without the skin but I still had fruit and brown rice and good stuff too and I didn't stuff myself. For dessert I had a cup of sugar-free hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps in it and that was delish! My cold is just about gone. The head has cleared up and I just have a bit of a cough left but I've felt great for the whole time and was able to work and exercise just like I wasn't even sick, woo hoo! That's a first for me. I know my good habits have definitely made a difference. Well, I'm off to walk some more before the day ends and then it's back to work tomorrow (I took today off). Keep up the good work, everyone!

Alex

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. Phil4:8

Gemstone, how are you fairing with the icicle storm?

Did you worry about having electricity or heat?

Glad to hear that your blood sugar was within range!

But the Holidays aren't over yet. So far, I haven't done too badly. I have gotten a lot of exercise--mostly walking--some biking and jogging and I did my strength work. I figure the exercise will offset to a certain extent any poor eating choices. My "gold standard" are my blood sugar readings and they have been fine so I figure I've done well, so far. Ask me again in a week--the leftovers are calling.

I think I did pretty good. I didn't really add up the calories, but mostly we snacked all day on the 24th, and I made sure to only have stuff from the veggie platters and the shrimp tray. I did have some eggnog, but I avoided all snacks that day, so I don't think I did bad. I did some last minute shopping too, because we had to grab the food trays and everything.

yesterday, I think I did pretty good. I ate a lot, but it was all good for you - again, it was mostly veggies, and I only had a little bit of stuffing for lunch and maybe two bites of it for dinner. I did have a huge piece of mixed berry pie with cool whip for dessert after dinner, but I'd avoided almost all candy, so all in all I think I did pretty good - esp considering TOM came on the 24th.

I didn't get to walk much - I mean, I walked, but I don't think it was enough to even bother counting. it was only two or three miles, and it was sporadic, so I don't really think I'm going to count it.

I did okay, didn't walk on the 24, but did a half hour walk yesterday. I did go over my calories both days, but not over my planned calorie count. My normal is below 1650 but set myself a goal of under 2500 for 2 days this month, and both days I was at 2450 or so. I usually keep myself below 1650 and 4x last week I was low on cal's.
cat

I used to shut the skinny me up with chocolate, now I shut the fat me up with a 4 mile walk

nothing to really write about here as far as being accountable on Christmas Day.

But I do figure on starting at level one at the beginning of the year to get me back on track with drinking water, exercising and being accountable, but until then . . . . everything in moderation.

Hope you are enjoying the Holidays, best wishes, K.

I exercised on Christmas Eve for about 30 minutes but wasn't feeling good so I stopped. I didn't do a darn thing Christmas Day......except vaccume for a few minutes. I stayed within my calorie ranges for both days but so sodium was off the charts. I gained 2 pounds since Sunday. :( Thats what I get for nibbling on ham like an addict.
