C25K is a program that helps people get started if they find it hard to just listen to their body. If you always slow down or stop when you get uncomfortable but are willing to give your body a good workout you will do great just by starting to run and walk when you need to. Most of all make your walking/running a lot of fun by picking areas to run that you enjoy and doing it in company you enjoy (solo, with friends, with pets etc.)
You can talk to God all you want and that's great, but the changes happen when you start listening to him.
