My running has been crap of late. I've not had time or gumption to make time. When I did get out, I was stuck at 10k. I couldn't bring myself to move my legs more than 10k.

But, I went out on Saturday in the pouring rain. I gave myself permission to run as long as I wanted. No rush to get home and take care of the kids or clean the carpets-- I didn't worry about my time, because I knew my time would be off because of the rain.

And I broke that *#(* curse! I managed 12 miles in the pouring rain. (Which was a pretty typical long run a few months ago, before I started feeling so busy and crunched for time.) It's nice to know it's still in me. It's a huge relief, since I'm running back to back HM in a month.

WHEW!!!

Imperfection is important. If we were all perfect, then there would be no such thing as growth, and everyone would be extremely boring, which is, paradoxically, not that perfect.-- Dr. Matt
