I played around with my tracker information. I found that Spark people made a change to the nutrition part back in July. I did not realize that until I started looking around my goal and nutrition area. I switched it over and I realized I could have had way more food yesterday than I ate. But guess I can start fresh and play around with it to meet my daily needs.

thanks. yeah i read not to diet while training for a marathon. Im not trying to diet but i know i will gain almost 5 pounds during the end of training. Id rather weigh 125 than 130 so if i took this last few weeks to drop to 120 that's what i wanted. But it didn't happen. So now I'm thinking I need to eat more.
i just wanted to see how come the tracker wouldnt change when i put in burning more calories. why it changed the scale when i ate more than allowed but went back when i stayed at range food intake and burned more calories. last year i ate way more but stayed the same while running but i didnt log on spark people as much. im at the beginning of my training which i have yet a few months a head of me. i want to log here to keep up good health but i feel like the range im burning is off or the food intake is. I understand it is trial and error.
I have noticed in the past when my weight is down I ran better and met most of my PRs.

It is difficult to lose weight when you are training for a marathon. 2-5 lbs from your goal is not going to make a difference in your running. Your goal should be to be healthy, and health is not necessarily defined by a number on the scale. Don't worry about the few pounds you want to lose while you are marathon training. Your body needs the nutrition.

I'm currently in training for a marathon. I wanted to be down to 120 which according to here I should have already met that goal. I hit 121 then it jumped up to 124.2 and I have held that for 2 weeks. I fixed my tracker several times to allow more food but it still will not allow me above 1550 calories. Here is the thing I'm irritated about. Halloween landed on my rest day but I decided to do a little bit of something which burned a little over 400 calories. I took in over 2000 calories that day. I was surprisingly down to 123.2. I ate around range along with my training and my weigh in was back to 124.2. I ran 13.1 yesterday and decided I would eat at range instead of going over board like I normally would on a long run. Weight still was at 124.2 this morning. It should be at 124 or 123.6. Am I not eating enough? I adjusted more calories burned total and it left me still with only 1550 or less calories. Seems like when I eat more than allowed I'm doing much better.
Reason I'm asking is I'm running long runs every weekend over 13 miles. I would like to eat to fuel and still stay at goal weight which I need to drop this 4lbs. I run faster and better. I want to eat to maintain the 120 but it's not happening. I can not get my calorie range right. Id like to nip this in the butt before I mess my progress up.
Any suggestion will be appreciated :)
