Ok, I really pushed my self yesterday, doing two 3 mile runs. I also did a 4 mile walk this am. Problem is, I'm doing it in new shoes with new inserts. See, I went last week to get shoes and had my feet evaluated. Turns out the arch of my left foot collapses when I walk/run. Makes sense as this foot was shattered when I was 13. LONG story short, we found shoes and inserts that support my left foot and cushion my right. No more shin splints!!!!
But she told me to "take it slow" as my calves were going to have to get used to the foot configuration. I did say I ran two 5K's yesterday and walked 4 miles this am. I also had over 21,000 steps yesterday in said shoes.
The inside of my left calf is just throbbing! I know this is my own fault. I know this this is just muscle and tendon soreness. I just don't know a stretch that hits this area, or even if that would help. Any ideas?
