That's fantastic news! I'm so glad that your husband was receptive. I couldn't convince my boyfriend to eat a healthy meal if my life depended on it. The problem is that he thinks that he knows everything and considers my "helpful" suggestions pure nagging. I keep telling him that he's going to have a heart attack before the age of 50 if he keeps up at this rate but he isn't interested.
I'm so glad that Forks Over Knives had such a huge turn out. That is great news and really shows just how many people are taking an active interest in the food they consume.
It was packed! The only reason we got in is because of the row of seats in the back. I spoke with the host and she said all three showings were like that. For a Monday during spring, that is huge. She's going to set up another event in the future.
Hubby is usually 'eh' when it comes to documentaries in general, but he went and liked it. We'd already been talking about adding more veggies in, but this sealed it. If there were more success stories, he'd probably be all in.
So, who's going? Hubs and I are heading to the 7:30 showing this evening unless something comes up. Free date night!
The first showing was at 11 and Tiffany Jackson, ND, CYT of Ecohealth and Wellness spoke on the importance of children and nutrition and nutrition's effects on autism. Second showing is at 5 with Danielle Dibeitto from Whole Foods Market giving info on how to begin a 28-Day Plant-Strong Food Challenge. The third showing at 7:30 will feature a segment on importance of nutrition and its effects on cancer, heart disease and diabetes from Dr, Craig Koniver, MD of Organic Medicine Now.
Door prizes, tastings, and will also be available. The Trip Page Education Initiative of SC is the host.
