I definitely need to lose a bunch more weight, but I also am trying to tone up. It's a necessary evil! lol

5 lbs of muscle simply takes up less space than 5 lbs of fat!

I think the secret is making the effort! If you push yourself to get there, you'll still keep everything working at a bigger, better, (?) rate than if you didn't go! I am noticing that even tho no weight seems to be going anywhere, my waistbands are looser and I think my arms are tightening up!!!
I am not at my ideal weight but I I have been at this weight before and been a better shape, so that is my goal--shape shifting!!! Tighten my "wings" (arms) and flatten the belly! The gym routine seems to be working. I wouyldn't say it's a habit yet, but
I have been looking forward to going! I'm up too 2 nights regularly with about a 75 minute workout on the weights!

I'm actually a pound less than I was before all of the high calorie-hoopla. Hopefully it'll keep dropping off!

I've been pretty good about making it to the gym ever day. Even those days where I don't really burn that much, I'm still forcing myself to get up and go!

went to the gym on Monday night and spent 75 minutes on the machines. I even wrote down the program that I did so I could do it again! It felt so good--and empowering, both mentally and physically!! and without a steroidal trainer over my shoulder I could set the weights so that I don't injure myself!
(Long, sad, expensive story about that for another time!)

Happy Halloween everyone,


and now we come to the wonderful holiday seasons --all guaranteed to sabotage your diet and goals!!!

so here's our "Winter Blues" challenge,Portland Sparkers!!!

figure out your plan for Nov 1st 2007 to January 31st 2008:

what will you do to stay on plan? How will you dodge the holiday goodies or if you succumb, what's the plan to make them not stay glued to your hips and thighs???
how will you get your exercise in when the weather turns beastly? How will you stay motivated?
on and on and on, but you get the idea.
How do you turn the "Winter Blues" into the "Winter Good News"?????
