Hello....

I'm back on SP after being away for a few years, and wanted to start off the New Year setting goals to track what I eat and exercise. I added a phone App to help me track my food and exercise, and it seems to be helping so far.

Mmmm Linda I love baked apples like that! You may not even need the sweetener. I had a baked pear this morning and it was incredible!

Good for you Kethyar! No time like the present to get back to what we know works for us.

Robin, that's pretty daunting. I have no doubt you'll succeed!

Trying to get back into healthy eating. I haven't exercised in months, which resulted in me gaining back weight that I now need to start working off again! I don't want to get caught in the yo-yo weight gain like I have - losing and gaining the same 5-10 lbs, so I want to work on more concrete food and exercise goals I can continue and not give up on!

I am stealing an idea from one of my H2C teammates. 100 goals in 1001 days. I'm up to 56 so far.

Robin, I'm trying. I'm horrible at setting measurable goals though.
"Lose lbs and inches" is a great goal, but.. how much? By when?

I'm looking at a simple - lose 52 lbs in 52 weeks. Seems reasonable, eh?

I rambled on, but think I'll use most of it for a blog.
emoticon

But yes, I'm trying to set long term goals for the year.

I let my diet slide for about a week (5 lb gain) over Christmas and New Years Eve, but I'm back on track. I joined Metabolic Research Center in November, so my goal is to follow that plan again - drink 3-4 high nutrient drinks per day, 100oz water, take my supplements and keep to the food program. (A stretch goal is to do 20 minutes cardio 3-4 times per week too).

My target is to be down 10-12 lbs in January, which puts me around 186lbs.

I am closer to my goal with each passing day!

I've done one 15 minute walk around the conference room so far today, and since the sun is shining I'll get outside and do 4 laps around the parking lot at some point.

Breakfast was healthy, packed a healthy light lunch, and will go to New Season's at lunch to pick up something for dinner.

I am adding in a goal of meditating for at least 10 minutes every day for the next 21 days. My BP is high, and keeps going higher. I refuse to go on meds without trying some other alternatives. I am going to begin altering my diet and lifestyle to see if I can bring it down naturally.

Great goals everyone! I love the range of possibilities we all have - no matter what level of fitness we're at, where we are in the battle for better nutrition, we're all trying!
emoticon

Picking up where I left off - I'm going to focus on good clean nutrition, eating foods as close to their natural state as possible. I'm also going to focus on moving move, aiming for at least 1 mile a day on purpose, and not just because I mosey around the office once an hour. Hopefully my Fitbit will help keep me motivated and informed through out the day.

I'm also hoping to be more active here on this team. I need all y'all to help me be successful, and I want to be the same kind of help! I do believe together we can!

Hello everyone!

My January goals: 1) Continue my weight loss journey. I am down 17lbs on my way to 40lbs by my May 2013. Next sub goal is to be at the 20 lbs lost mark by January 10th, when I go south to visit a friend. 2) I joined the Spark Team for newbie runners to train for a 5K. I'm on the first week. Working out when you're off work for the holidays is the easy part! Goal is to stay consistent through the month.

Start doing the physical therapy exercises for my back; start walking and building up my ability. I'm at ground 0 for fitness so improving should be easy if I just get out of my chair. I've let bad disks and back pain wipe me out and put 45 extra pounds on me the past 2 years and it's time to change. My ultimate goal is to remember it's not all or nothing but small steps along the way that get bigger and stronger as I go.

I would love to find a walking partner in my area... anyone in the Clackamas/Happy Valley area?

Welcome to 2013 everyone! We survived the Maya Apocalypse, the Fiscal Cliff, and our first Rockin' New Year's Eve show without Dick Clark (RIP). I say that calls for a celebration!

Whether you, like me, did the Holiday shuffle and let things slide, or were diligent and kicked much Fat bootay, let's work together to start off this new year right.

Tell us your goals, and we'll cheer you on.
Share your gift of gab, and get to know your teammates even better.

If it's meant to be, it's up to you (and me). Shall we?
