Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it's a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they're terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
Hi everyone! I am new to the SparkPortland team. I have weighed 250lbs for a very long time. Just this year I found something that really works. I have lost 45 lbs and have 40 lbs to go. I will be under 200lbs for my 45th birthday in December, what a great gift. I have the same story as everyone else, I have tried every diet and been to all the diet centers. I just don't like their food and I don't think they were healthy so I struggled to find something that was natural. I am finally in a place for the first time in 20 years where I feel confident enough to get to my goal weight. I am so active now. Just recently I went zip lining, rode quads on the beach and have taken up kayaking, snow shoeing and running. I can't believe how good I feel and can't believe how bad I felt 45lbs ago. I am excited to meet people in Portland that are on the same journey. Thanks!
