I'm sorry we didn't find each other, Chuck! We missed Gaye with her back (which I hope continues to get better!) I did run into Chas - that is to say she spotted me from the restroom line as Bill and I were heading past, and got our attention. I should have stayed with her instead of chatting for a few moments then heading on.
I didn't see you, or Reaching4More, but you're right, it's hard to tell only from SP pictures. At one point I stood up on the stones surrounding the memorial site and surveyed the crowd. I kept thinking I saw someone I recognized, but no.
Glad you finished with your knee! I finished in 44 min, which I'm happy about considering how much hill there was. Bill improved his 5K time by 2 minutes, so he was happy with that as well.
Next year, we might just volunteer instead LOL it was fun to oh-so-soggy! C~
I went to the meeting area several times but did not see anyone I recognized from pictures on Spark. I did finish the race sore knee and all. I have no clue how ell I did and cannot pull it up on the Shamrock website yet. With my injured knee I did not think I would finish but I did!! My pace was considerably slower than normal and only stopped running 2 times when we were stopped to let cross traffic through. To bad I missed everyone at the meet-spot.
So it looks like the Shamrock Sparkers are meeting at SW Pine and Naito? What time? I picked up my packet today. I have an injured back (I saw where Chuck has an injured knee) so I wont be going very fast, but I'm going to do the best I can. What a nice dry afternoon. Will it hold through the morning?

Maybe it's the S&M Challenge because someone would have to love the torment and pain of running and fording waterways so much? LOL
SW Pine and SW Naito is the starting area for the Shamrock, btw, in case I was all muddled in my last post.
If you can take Max in, I'd go that route. We rode Max for the HeartBreaker, and it was perfect! We only walked a few blocks to get to the event area, which was a nice chance to warm up a bit. It also meant there were no worries or hassels for parking, which was great. I work in the area and could park at work and walk up to the event, but truly, Max was so very convenient. C~
Just went to the website it is March 5th!! I have family who lives near there... it is COLD!! Plus there are 3 water crossings each one bigger that the other. The Shamrock run will be hard enough in the cold and possible rain. However I am signed up for the Warrior Dash in Sept.
So when is the "Kinky" run? (S&M Run) Is this the clothes optional run? As for a meet-up at the Battleship I will try to make it. I am not familiar with the area nor have I been in a large race so I am playing it by ear if I get anywhere on time. Can't decide if I am driving or taking Max from the Westside. With so many people in town parking may be a premium.
WooHoo Reaching4More and Chuck! We're signed up as well - me, hubby Bill, and daughter Courtney. I know Chazeray is also signed up and I'm hoping her knee will be in good shape for the run.
We should try to meet up before or after.. say, at the Battleship Oregon Memorial Marine Park? Yes, I TOTALLY Googled Mapped SW Pine and SW Naito Parkway to find the nearest landmark LOL
I'm kind of hoping someone from here with sign up for the S&M 5K Challenge Obstacle Course. Do you have to run a gauntlet of whips and paddles? Will finishers receive a pair of fur-lined handcuffs? Heh.
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
