Thanks Chuck. I read your blog and checked out that site. The site's very helpful.

I did figure out how to set the weight goals etc. You have to restart your program by going to start page, account/e-mail preferences, and reset your goals. It took forever to figure out, so hopefully this info will help others in the future.

When I started SparkPeople 1 yr ago I thought the same thing. Spark started me out at 2800+ calories. But Spark give you a range mine currently is 1725-2800. I eat according to how I exercise. No exercise for the day I eat at the low end. A lot of exercise I eat at the top end of the scale. If a person eats at their BMR with a little exercise will lose weight.
Spark has a BMR Calculator Formula but I find this one very close and all you do is plug in a few number. www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_ca

Good luck on your journey. Consistency is the key in logging in all food and exercise regular.

Hello. I just joined. I chose Living a Healthy Lifestyle as my goal when I first joined, but for me that includes some weight loss. It said I would be able to change that, but I haven't been able to find where to do that. I see lots of you have cute little progress trackers, and I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

My wife and I have been working out regularly for 3-4 weeks, but I haven't seen any weight loss. So, I joined the site to help me track my food, and I see I'm eating too many calories. The site is telling me to eat over 3,000 calories! I think changing my goal will help it give me better feedback. Thanks for your help and support.
