Zumba at New Day Center (55th/SE Foster) with Tina tonight, 6-7 pm (also held on Tuesdays). This is a low-impact class with a lot of attention to latin dance steps...if you havent tried Zumba before, this is a good place to "get your feet wet!" (while keeping them dry). Class size is typically small (under 15). Cost is $7 (door prize offered this month too!). Look for me -- I'll be there!

OMG - Zumba class at 24HR/205 last night (8-9 pm) was a sweatin BURN! 495 calories burned! Lower impact than I woulda expected, but still a good workout --Lots of people packed the room (men too), made for a pretty steamy workout (mirrors were fogged up big time, LOL) -- Was a lot of fun though! Peace Love Zumba!

@Robin - It definitely takes some getting used to (a couple of classes), but after awhile it seems to click. You might try classes at the New Day Center on 55th/Foster. They have 5-6 instructors there at varying times thru the week, each having their own style. On Saturday mornings (9-10 am) they have a "Newbies class" too. To find out about classes in your area, check out www.zumba.com . Also, if you have Facebook, check out The New Day Center and PDX Zumba pages. Zumba definitely is a fitness party!

I don't belong to 24 hr fitness but I heard their Zumba classes are great. I did try Zumba at East Ptld Community Center. It took a bit to get used to but I would definitely go again. I had a lot of fun.
