I got off the strength band wagon in May and finally got back on with another team's July Spark Fitness. Needless to say I've been a little sore also so I'm taking today off, but I did walk 50 minutes at 17 min per mile.

So I've been able to get back into my regular workout mode. Except today when I went to use the thigh machines at the gym. Apparently those muscles in my butt are still a little sore from the hike! They don't hurt when I walk anymore, but they didn't like that machine!!

Tomorrow I'm working my arms, so I'll actually be able to finish the sets.

Ive been absent for a bit so let me catch up with what Ive done so far this week -

Sun - 30 Day Shred - Level 1 = 20 min.
Sun - 2-mile Outdoor Walk (I even ran a little!)
Sun - Fence Building (about 4 hours worth!)
Mon - 10 Minute Solutions (Abs) = 10 min.
Mon - 10 Minute Solutions (Upper Body) = 10 min.
Mon - 2-mile Outdoor Walk
Tue - 30 Day Shred - Level 1 = 20 min.
Tue - 2-mile Outdoor Walk

Amber - Keep up the good work! Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Yesterday was my daughters birthday - Needless to say, no fitness -- I will make up the "Shred" either Saturday or Sunday, and move on.

Today, I did do some intense gardening (yard is lookin' good) and washed the car --

Today I went boating with my children and then played volley ball with them and the neighbors. It has been fun. I think that the family is starting to get tired of the volleyball games so I am going to have to find a new back yard game to play. Maybe the badmiten game will work for a while then we will try soccer. We will see. Good luck at keeping up with your sparks goals. I hope you are doing well with them today.

Baby steps is the way I am going to accomplish my goals.

Still can't seem to get back to the strength training but I did walk 40 minutes yesterday then ironed for an hour when I got home (to beat this weekend's heat). Does that count?

Happy Friday!

Yesterday I completed the 30-Day Shred, Level 1 (again!) - Im so pleased with the progress Ive made with this workout because I have really been consistent. It is becoming a lot easier too, but it is really helping "reshape" me! Never in my life would I think I could do 90+ sit-ups in one workout! Im actually thinking this is FUN now :)

SQUIRLLYKID - I was so excited to see your post -- You are so right -- When your fitness is in the form of something fun that is always the best! We should always be moving - Doing something with others, etc. I, personally, have to push myself when I go to the gym, and even sometimes when I go outside by myself for a walk - because it isnt fun to me to do just that. I cant wait til I have our net up this weekend in the backyard to play more badmiton (but then again, we will even "bat the bird around" without the net!)

Fitness should definitely be something you enjoy! I dance around my living room sometimes with my heart rate monitor on. =P

I also really like the feeling after a good go on an elliptical.

Well ever since I started I do modified crunches in the morning with some streching, then I walked a mile. Now I walk 2 miles in 30 minutes. I am trying to add more movement during the day so I bought a Volley ball net and now all of the neighborhood comes over almost every night to play a game or two. We play for about 2 hours now. It is great and My children are loving it. It is a great cardio workout to. I have also been riding my bike again I have missed that. I think that our fitness should be fun so that we will stick to it. What do you like to do?

Baby steps is the way I am going to accomplish my goals.

So I finished my 30 Day Shred, Level 1 Workout today -- and after a week, my clothes are fitting better! I will ride my recumbent bike for at least 30 minutes tonight while watching SYTYCD!

My fitness today consisted of a bunch of yard work. I mowed the front/back lawn, trimmed trees in the back yard, and weeded flower bed - conservatively, Im going to say it was 2 hrs. I also played 20 min. of badmiton with daughter. And I spent about 20 min. ripping out linoleum out of the bathroom (now that was hard!)

I wont be going out of town afterall! Im going to have to find either a local Farmers Market or a stand this weekend -- my strawberries are all gone! Im really craving blueberries too though and hope they come out sooner than expected!

My fitness yesterday was none (well, all except walking the Hawthorne to/fro my car to work). My free day out of the week! I was soo tired after work that I knew I just needed to rest up! HR work can be very demanding sometimes and it just taxed the max out of me yesterday!

The stand we use is so good that the last time my husband tried it they were OUT! So we had to wait a couple of days, and then we got some more. Now that we have them, I'm trying to make them last as long as I can wait! =)

redcrayon, I missed the farmers market Wednesday, maybe hit it tomorrow. New Season's flyier this week says the Hoods are finally in, the best in the world. I used to have to pick them to earn spending money when I was a kid.

Yesterday I got 30 minutes in walking.

Amber -- All I can say is that half flat of strawberries is GONE! Im going to have to find a stand to buy more! Im headed out to Carlton this weekend though so there is sure to be something out that way!

My fitness today was 30-Day Shred, Level 1 (20 minutes - I graduated myself to 5 lb. weights for 2/3 of the workout) and a 30 minute recumbent bike ride). It is so helpful having my daughter do that Shred workout with me -- makes time go soo much faster!

Gayemc - I bought strawberries at the Farmer's Market -- They are soo good! Cant wait for raspberries and blueberries to show up in July! Good job on the 50 minutes!

Ready4Live - Great job on the 2 miles! Glendoveer is such a great place to walk -- Its a little out of the way for me, but I try to get over there on weekends every now and then!

Today I walked the Hawthorne to/fro work to car and up to Farmer's Market at lunch (1.8 mi.) As soon as my daughter gets here we will "shred" (30-Day Shred, Jillian Michaels) for 20 min. and then I plan to ride my recumbent bike for 30 minutes while I watch SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance - My daughter was on the Cleveland HS dance team for 4-years and I miss watching dance so SYTYCD helps!!! She graduated in '07).

Yesterday I completed a 2-mile walk with daughter, sister (and sister's dog) up around Adventist Hospital. Then daughter and I completed 30 Day Shred, Level 1.

Hoping to get in some lunchtime walking downtown today (its Farmers Market Day up in the park blocks)

I'm not a fan of working out outside. So I'll still be sticking to the gym! It's much cooler in there and I don't get stuck having to shuffle back to my car if I'm too tired to finish the workout.

But I'm stubborn like that... lol!

Just wondering what everyone is doing for fitness now that we have had a few nice sunny days!

I walked the bridge (Hawthorne) to/from car to work (20 min.), went on a 2-mile neighborhood walk after work, and completed Level 1 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred dvd (kicks butt).
