Life ain't so bad at all...if you live it off the wall
I got a bike too! But, haven't been riding it because I'm super leery of traffic too! On a trail or path would be my first choice. You also can take your bike on TriMet and Max, and then get off and ride somewhere. Thanks for the trail info!
Welcome! It seems like Kristin has some great ideas!
I'm thinking about getting a bike to save some gas. My gym is about 15 minutes away, so if I go twice that's an hour out of my day! That adds up to a lot of gas!
MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THAN FAT 5 lbs = 5 lbs
5 lbs of muscle simply takes up less space than 5 lbs of fat!
If nothing tasted as good as being thin felt, no one would ever get fat!

hi I'm new to portland. Is there any good routes besides the springwater trail? Also does anyone know about riding to mt. hood? safe routes? incline and ssuch
Hi Amy, welcome to SparkPeople. I also live in Milwaukie and I ride my bike to work almost every day. Are you wanting to ride to work or just for fun/exercise? The Springwater will take you toward downtown and also toward Gresham from Milwaukie. There is a bike path that connects to the Springwater that runs North and South along I-205. There is also a path that runs East and West along Marine Drive. Those are the main paths that I know of. If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know!

Hi everyone! Amy the newbie here. I just bought myself a bicycle and I can't wait to ride it! Only thing is, I am completely clueless as to any good bike routes in/around SE. I live in Milwaukie, but can drive if need be. I know there is the Springwater Trail, and I can hook up with it on Johnson Crk Blvd...but I don't know where it goes from there!
Anyone here bike a lot and know of good (and safe!) spots I can ride? I'm leery of cars since I haven't biked in a loooong time and would prefer parks, etc.
Thanks for any help!
