We usually go to our neighborhood bar when we go out, i stick with dry(no condiments) deli sandwiches and salads. Every once and a while ill have a chicken quesadilla. its Italian! Olive garden or Ramonos Macaroni grill! .heart., try to stick with marinara sauces as opposed to heavy cream sauces.
I enjoy eating at a variety of places and foods but 2 of my favorites are Carafe for great bistro food and El Gaucho for the splurge. Most of the food at Carafe is wonderful, especially the steak tartar and I'm not a big meat eater but when I do want some, El Gaucho IS the place. And their bourbon sweet potatoes are to die for, and the scalloped ones aren't bad either

Well, my hubby and I like McMenamins, Rose's and Blue Moon Diner (he's a comfort food kind of guy). However, once a month I go out to eat with my girlfriends to a swanky restaurant. Some of my faves are Paley's Place, 23 Hoyt, Fife (although I haven't been there in quite some time, so I'm not sure if the quality is still up there), and Rocket. Of those, Rocket is definitely the most fun--it's over on Burnside, just on the east side of the bridge. Definitely worth a try.
As for what to order, the nicer restaurants tend to have changing menus, so I get something different every time. At the other restaurants, I tend to get salads (McMenamins), breakfast items or sandwiches.
