I kind of felt that way too. I had a bilateral mastectomy, and I do not wear my prosthetics while I am working out. This means that instead of people seeing my boobs bounce...they see my belly...oh well...my belly is now smaller. Today a woman asked me if I was an athlete!!! Made my day.
Keep up the good work.
I am not the hare. I am the tortoise. I will win my race slowly and steadily, one bite, one step at a time.
...but thanks to all your encouragement and my drive to embrace a healthier lifestyle, thats not a problem anymore. I go at least three times a week. I have discovered really helpful friendly people at my gym. I've even had a discussion about nutrition with one of the employees and I didn't feel like a putz. In fact, he thanked me for telling him about Sparkpeople.
So thanks to all of you for your help...and if you know someone who was embarassed as I was, just keep encouraging them!
