My scales has a permanent home. On a tile floor. BUT! I could move it to carpet if the results were more pleasing. All kidding aside ... it is me, not the scales.

Thanks for the thought tho!

Test your scale weigh yourself with it on carpet vs linolium/wood ect. I discovered a couple days ago it makes a big difference. haha. Flat hard surfaces are the correct answer.

GOOD NEWS! I am ready to learn how to change the weight on my little marker!

I have been pretty discouraged. I thought I was doing the right things, and the right things were not happening.

This morning, my scale budged! So, I spent the entire day walking and doing resource development for my students. We all win!

Thanks for the support!

Cindy

Oh, I gave up fast food over a year ago. And soda no longer exists in my household (and that's a money saver too, but to my kids' disappointment). But ya caught me! We have a candy jar at work and I sometimes dip into it. When I was losing, I wouldn't walk within 10 feet of it, so I'm sure that's part of it, not that I over indulge, but the smallest amount of extra calories will keep me from losing. I know it. Its just a will power thing with me. Its funny, when I choose to have a treat (maybe 4 times in the last year) like an ice cream from Coldstone, I never gained any weight from it. In fact I usually would be down the next day, so you might be on to something with the occasional dip into the fast food realm. Hmmmm.

Given my choice, I would live on veggies and whole grains. I eat mostly chicken and seafoods for my meats.

I have an injury and a lot of work stresses right now so I am going to focus on just eating healthy and walking as much as I can.

I enjoy gardening and today I saw that my flowering sweet peas were sprouting. Next will be planting the salad veggies and root crops. Is it spring yet?!

Thanks for the support, friends!

If it helps any, even though I track my food (for the last two years on sparkpeople.com).

I still only eat a salad about once every three weeks. Pizza (once a week), glass of wine and fast food (at least three times a week).

But, now I don't have candy bars and pop on pizza/fast food night (I have water and side order of veggies).

Oiy! Me too. I've been stuck for months though. It does get harder to lose the smaller you are. I've been losing the same three lbs for months, up down up down. I've been reading all kinds of tricks and tips to jump start and have tried them all. I think I'm plain just eating too much and need to cut back, no matter how difficult it is. I just can't seem to muster up the will power to do it.

I tend to loose weight in spurts. Make progress for 1 - 2 months, then none for 3, then progress for 3 or 4, then none for 5 - 6, then progress again for 1, etc. (Currently in another plato).

Doing the same things, eating the same foods WILL MAKE the plato longer. Change things up about every two months or so ... remember PMS and muscle weight happen.

Before I started "spark" I was 197 lbs, I hit an eight month plato and that's when I discovered this website. I have thrown away me size 22 through 10 clothes. Currently bouncing in the 6 - 8 sizes.

The weight has moved alot slower than the dress size. I spent two weeks hiking (no fast food in sight) and gained weight .. but the clothes were looser.

KEEP TRYING .. DO NOT give up. You CAN make it.

For what it is worth, I thought I would let you know I am still stuck. And ... perhaps ... the stuck is also in my head!

My weight is still 172#.

Since you don't know me, it might be fair to let all know I have about 15# of titanium in me. I have had both hips replaced with additional material added to my pelvis for stability. I am 5'9" tall and my doc has never been crazy about me being below 160#. Add to that, I am 56 and past the hormone fluctuations.

If I do the creative math, subtracting the titanium from my current weight, I am below that 160# mark.

Jumping carefully off the soap box. Thanks, friends.

Another thing to keep in mind, particularly since it sounds like it's only been a couple of weeks is that you may also be retaining water. I have consistantly been loosing about 10 lbs a month since I started, but there is always a week or two in there when I don't see the scale move at all because of PMS, etc. Obviously, your clothes are telling you that you have lost, even if the scale isn't, so just stick with it, and I bet next week you'll have a day where you loose 5 lbs over night.

I have been hovering around 146 for over a month now. My boyfriend keeps telling me it's fine and it's not about the weight but how my body is changing. He says he can see it. That was plenty of motivation for me to get back on my treadmill after 4 days off. I was feeling like all this work was doing nothing but it is. No matter what the scale says do it for your entire body and your overall health.

Your weight may be stuck temporarily, but I think it is GREAT that you are down a size!! I wish I were. I haven't been exercising, but I started that with intent yesterday.

Keep on keeping on. I'm sure the scale will go down again soon. I think you are doing great.

Okay ... I got off to a great start and hit the plateau already. December 20th, I was 188 pounds, size 14.

I think I joined SparkPeople February 3rd. I was either 171 or 172 and size 12.

I am hanging on at 172, 173, or so ... and now down to size 10.

I am walking daily, 30 minutes or more. I am drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. I know muscle weighs more and takes up less space. Or fat takes up more space ...

Anyway ... done whining. (I did go to the gym and will get back at that too.)
