Good job! Keep focus and remember that this is not just another diet. Just keep your LIFE in the back of your mind when you are in a showdown with FOOD! This is what you are doing to feel good for the rest of your life!! Kudos for getting right back on the wagon after that reception! It can be hard but you are worth it!

If you don't like starting over....STOP giving up!!! NICOLE

Good Day today! I took a 6 mile bike ride. I trimmed hedges and three trees today. I also took my dog for a mile walk this evening. I also stayed within my nutrition numbers for the day. emoticon Can't believe I can actually move this evening!

A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day of work!

Pretty good day today. I kept pretty active during the day. I cut the grass and caulked the bathroom shower. I also took my dog for a mile walk. I stayed within my nutrition numbers for the day. Tomorrow I take a bike ride.

Thanks KNYAGENYA,

Yesterday afternoon as not good for me. I went to a wedding reception and ate way too much food and desserts. I will put that behind me and keep moving forward. Weighed 320 today. I still have faith I can do this.

Congrats on your engagement! You can do it...I have faith in you. I suggest getting a hobby that keeps your hands busy. I knit so I do not feel tempted to snack. I suggest exercise and well. There are so many benefits to it other than weight loss. Also keep up on that water...it makes a huge difference.

DayOne begins. I want to thank Turtle and MissG for their support. I had good night sleep and am ready to begin my journey. Today will be a challenge because we are attending a Wedding reception at our neighbors. I will try to take smaller portions and control my sugar intake.

I will also do some work around the house that will hopefully burn off some calories.

Hi Doug! You are making the first step by changing your life style. As MissG stated drink plenty of water. Try to get in at least 8 8 oz. glasses a day. Water is wonderful for you in more ways than one.

It is nice that you have set yourself a goal to achieve. This will help you stay focused on watching what you eat and your portion sizes. Don't try to change everything at once. Remember to take everything in steps. This is a life style change.

If you haven't been exercising, you may want to start that out small too. With just 10 minutes to begin with and then increasing it as you go along. Don't over due it when you just start out.

If you need someone to talk with or need some motivation, please give me a holler. You can send me an e-mail. I am here for you to help you succeed.

Welcome, Doug! I am very excited for you! It's totally worth going into this new part of your life healthier and fitter.

My biggest recommendation for staying away from the snacking is to hydrate hydrate hydrate. Lots of times we nibble when we're really just thirsty. I have learned to love drinking water, plain and simple, and I sometimes have to remind myself to eat!

Keep us up on your progress!

Miss G

Hello Spark People!

Tomorrow, June 1st will be 113 days until my wedding day. Yes on September 21st I am going to marry the Love of my Life! I am 52 years old and have been married once before. I would like to at least lose 15 lbs. before my wedding. I am going to try to keep my goal reasonable and aim for just one lb. per week. If I lose more then that will be a bonus. Why am I starting on June 1st. Because I am a Teacher and tomorrow is the first day of my summer vacation. What better way to start the summer than to set a new personal goal for myself.

I know that there will be set backs but I am really hoping to keep moving forward. I want to do this for my Fiance. I also want to do this for my kids, but most of all I have to do it for myself. As I get older I am finding that carrying this excess weight is really starting to have an effect on my knees and back. I sometimes use that as an excuse not to exercise. But my knees and back always feel better after I have exercised.

I also need to reduce my food intake. I can't continue to eat large portions and have seconds. I can't be snacking all day long as I have in the past. I need to make more healthy choices for meals and for snacks.

I hope you can help me in this journey. I really do better when I have friends who will encourage me to continue this journey and I hope I can find some on this site that will do that for me.

Thanks for reading this.

Doug
