the boyfriend "cant" just walk/run on the treadmill for a half an hour. he has to feel like he is doing something--so he does basketball once a week. (for the record, no, i dont think that once a week cuts it, but thats another story in itself.)

All you can control is yourself...my advice is to concentrate on yourself and not worry about your BF or spouse. I have a hard enough time motivating myself without taking responsibility for another adult.

What business do you have? I also would like my DH to work out with me, but haven't have any luck with it.

It is slowly getting him to move... that and the fact we are in a wellness and health business and he should look better.... besides, he has to keep up with me!

Yeah, I gave up on the hubby working out thing. And he even has a REASON to loose weight & get in shape! He & oldest DS are headed for an 8 day hiking excursion in AZ next year that he has to be in tip top condition for! But he still sits around on his lazy A$$!!

My eliptical thing was free..... so cannot complain about it.... made room, and have to make time... have too..... get cranky and out of sorts when I don't exercise. Hope this inspires my sweetie to workout.

Lucky duck!!! I don't even have TIME to exercise these days let alone worry about where to work out. John likes the elliptical thing, but I never got the hang of it.

I have a exercise/computer/tv/room that I have all my exercise except my treadmill which is in the bedroom, because its huge. I would love to have this room just a exercise room.

I have an exercise room. It's very cramped because I have a lot of stuff in it, but no elliptical. I've debated getting one of these for years, but I think they might be too hard for me. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, the exercise room also gets used for any project we're doing. It's the only climate-controlled room we have where we have a little floor space & can lock the pets out.

Up till now, I used the front porch and the floor in living room, but it was awkward and cold in winter. Hubby works from home now, and doesn't work out at all!!! So today we re-arranged the media room, threw out some crap, no idea who brings it in the house... and moved the eliptical trainer and yoga ball and mat in there! Will use portable dvd player and away we go.. or I should say, away the pounds go!
any hints???? Neither of us has ever worked out on eliptical thingie.
