Crazy day. Not on track at all. Got hijacked to the new Dunkin Doughnuts for breakfast. Was a good girl and had an eggwhite scramble thing and water, but couldn't pass up a doughnut =(

Lunch was also fast food. I didn't over do it, but I just feel yucky and bad.

Dinner I have NO IDEA on what I'm going to do since we have to leave to go see the kids musical at school in like 20 minutes. It will last a few hours and I will be starving at 9pm and definitely not wanting to cook.

Ug bad day.

My wife doesn't exactly understand my dietary needs either. She refuses to believe I am a diabetic, but my tests continue to show that I am, though as I said before I am really doing a good job controlling it.

The problem with Lean Cuisine and the like is that it is very high in sodium which can lead to high blood pressure. It also uses a lot of pasta and such which unless they are multigrain are going to burn right through you and you'll find yourself hungry.

The thing that has worked best for me is to play with the food journal section. Give yourself a list of things you have in your pantry you might like to eat and put each one of them in (I realize this takes some time while you get used to it). and find the one that satisfies you the most and fits inside your boundaries.

Is it wings you love? ME TOO! I love them! I now make sure if I am going to have them I make 3-5 of them and then have a dark colored veggie (sticks with your body longer) and a fruit such as an apple (with skin so you get the fiber). If you eat three fruits a day that have skin that you eat, you will have all the fiber in your diet your body needs and VERY few of us get that.

I cook up a 10 oz package of broccoli or spinach, or whatever I want to eat and I just precook it.

Get deli meat out of your diet. High in sodium and junk your body doesn't need. cook up a chicken breast and shred it for a fast protein snack or a sandwich.

He wants to go to McDonalds...take something along with you for YOU to eat. Point is take control of your diet. You can't effect change in him unless he wants to. You have to control your own. It's all about planning. I buy a lot more fish now such as Tilapia, salmon, and cod. I t can be a little fatty but it's good omega 3s just eat 3-4oz of it. I'll cook it up with seasoning and crumble it up into a multi-grain pita and presto, 5 min lunch I can eat on the go.

I'll add more recipes as I figure them out. We are all trying to figure it out, just remember you have to focus on your health.

Good plan Debbie. You might also keep some dried fruit with you as well.

I can help some with the healthy recipes. We will talk as soon as we can get together.

Ya I had wings =(
Jacked the whole day up of course.

This weekend has been rough to. My husband refuses to eat right. We went to the store where he bought cookies, chips, etc.

Tried giving me cookies that night, Saturday he took the grandkid to DQ and brought me home some monster shake thing, (which I managed to avoid except for a few bites) then Sunday he tried giving me cookies again! Plus Friday night I had a healthy dinner planned and he took us to McDonalds even though I said I had things ready to go at home.

I swear I am beginning to think he is TRYING to undermine me.

We go shopping tomorrow, and I informed him, I am NOT buying junk. I am done cooking the same ole same ole, and I am pretty much just done cooking period until I get some healthy recipes in my bag of tricks. (Going to purchase all meal replacement things for me like Lean Cuisines, etc.)

Today once again, back on track so far. Put a oatmeal bar and some trail mix in my purse in case he tries to hijack me again to some fast food place!

emoticon Debbie. Did you stay away from the wings?

Lately my calories have been at the higher end of my range because I have been starving a lot. Thought my thyroid might need a boost, but my bloodwork shows that to not be the case. The last few days I have been eating at the lower end and hoping to keep it there. Also lowered my range a bit. I hate eating over my range, so maybe that will keep me in check as well.

Day 2 on track- gonna be rough considering we already had Pizza Hut wings planned for dinner tonight and I didn't defrost anything else.

Day 1 went smoothly with planning and I stayed under 2K kcals. First time in a long time.

Day 2 of tracking my food again.
Day 1 was great up until dinner time, then I blew it!

Day 2 is going good and I intend on keeping it good!

I am writing in a journal what I eat then come to the comp and track it on here. I figure, when I cant log in and track (say like at school) I can at least be aware of whats going in my mouth.

My goal is to lose 10lbs by the 17th. I finally broke up my weight loss goal into many much smaller incriments. I am going to put my procrastination and last min cramming abilities to work for myself by losing this weight in smaller portions instead of procrastinating the hundred plus pounds away until August. (I am taking an EMT course in August and want to be down 100lbs by December of this year so I am work ready. Cant lift and move injured people if I cant lift and move myself right?)

So yeah, as of 11:05 am, I am on track!

I had what I thought would be a high calorie lunch today and it was actually about 350! Two eggs on two pieces of bread and a bowl of quinoa with maple syrup and dried cranberries. Made me super happy!

No. I tried really hard to watch what I ate and I still ended up 500+ calories over my limit. And, I'm hungry which is driving me crazy. Please tell me this gets easier!

Yes, I track them every single day...but it doesn't mean I'm meeting all the goals I'm suppose to since the "Nutrition" tracker doesn't give credit for the Calcium, Vitamin D3, or the Multivitamin - Multimineral pills that I take. (apparently it's because they don't show any calorie counters on their individual bottles).

The two biggest problems I have with my nutrition is getting enough protein and fiber. Otherwise I pretty much stay in range in calories, fat and carbs.

How are you doing on your nutrition? Did you track today? Did you stay in bounds of your calorie intake? Post anything you want about your nutrition today.
