I arrived back home this afternoon in the pouring rain, feeling relaxed and peaceful. It was a good experience for my mind. Weigh-in is tomorrow morning, I know I did pretty good on staying healthy, but I'm nervous anyway.
A couple of things I learned: the closest exercise studio was happy to sell me a one-week membership for $20, so I was able to do okay with my fitness routine. For most of my time I was staying in a place with a kitchen, so I was in control of my food. When I did go out, I explained to the server what my limitations are and what I was looking for. They were all very cooperative and concerned with helping me get what I needed. When the servers didn't know what the ingredients were, they went to ask the cook or, in one case, sent over the manager to be sure I got accurate information. Nobody acted like I was too much trouble, and I didn't feel at all like a nuisance -- I felt taken care of.
The easiest kinds of restaurants to get healthy food: seafood and Asian, just watch out for the fried stuff. Otherwise, lots of grilled options, lots of vegetables. I also made sure I had healthy food in the car so I could nibble, snack, and treat myself without going through the drive-thru or shopping at the convenience store.
Not so thrilled to be going back to work so soon, but my cat is happy to see me!

I tried hard, and look where it got me. This time I'm trying easy.
