It was .The wind was swirling around so hard it twisted all the plants apart :/ Think it was Wednesday night.

I had a great time, and today I got back to my little plot in the community garden. Everything was dead, except the Swiss chard and a whole lotta green tomatoes, so I brought them home and pulled everything else out and turned the soil over a little. My neighbors there had pretty much cleared out their plots already. We've had killing frost and it seems too early! I guess that's because we're in the mountains at about 1900 feet up. Sunny

Yep, I wasn't that far away from you, in Charlotte. It was 75-80 by day and in the 40s at night. Gorgeous! Sunny

sounds like you were in my neck of the woods; I am in Lee Hall Virginia where we still have roses in bloom and I have tons of purple fuzzy in my yard, i think it is called callosia. The bees love it and in the winter the birds eat the seeds...it is less than 12 inches most of the time and has slender red leaves now
we are still having t shirt weather and cool nights

Hi Friends, I just got back from the Southern US where I enjoyed sitting on the patio with family watching the birds at their feeders. I saw goldfinches, mourning doves, towhees, and several hawks up in trees or on power lines. We took a nature walk, too and I heard birds I couldn't identify by song. I saw blackbirds, and saw a few robins. I heard, but never saw, titmice, cardinals, and chickadees. It was so nice and warm and the trees and shrubs were still very lush. I saw bunches of tiny lavender asters, something purple and fuzzy that my aunt identified but I forget, yellow coreopsis, and huge fields of magenta cosmos by the highway (must have been planted). I even saw one small specimen of Spotted Touch-Me-Not. Happy Autumn, everyone! Sunny
