Jeanne the year is flying by and it is almost cold the last 2 days here but supposed to warm up tomorrow again to 70-80 again so we wont get too cold just yet!:) Silver I would have to plant in the house if I wanted a winter garden might be interesting though....

Where did most of the year go? lol. I feel like you do, not enough rain, and our garden was much different then last year. Our Tomatoes tasted good, but not as big of a crop. Oh well, always next year!

Our Summer has gone by fast too :( Also wish we would get a bit more rain. I can see it off in the distance but it usually just goes by. I am just about over the veggie garden. First it was aphids not it is those awful horned worms LOL UGH they are so gross. The tomatoes all got curly top and blossom end rot this year. At times I wonder why I waste my time.

Oh boy my Gd's have a couple of those dogs they are kind of a pain all right!!The one will kill small animals if he gets the chance a real nasty stinker at times and other times quite lovable go figure! Yes kids learn what they see dont they. How is your weather these days?we are finally getting rain again so all is well and green here looks like we will make it to Sep without any problems!Yay

We do not hear much about the fires here now. Mostly it is about the fires in Co. It has been such a terrible start to the fire season for so many people :(
I agree kids need to treat animals with respect and love. It will foster morals in them on how to treat all living things including people
Our dogs like kids and it is when they are following when she gets pushy with them. :( Unfortunately it is a learned behavior their parents treat their own dog in a not so nice manner. He is a Pain in the butt happy Jack Russell

yes it will def matter how the kids interact with them ,Woody has always liked to follow the kids around because they paid a lot of attentionn to him. I had a small dog years ago whos tail got pulled by a visiting kid and she hate kids after that!They do not forget~ and some kids are not good with them.How are the fires there?Thats so sad that so many have lost their homes!

That is not good news.Hope everyone is okay now.I had big skunk problems I will trade them for some rain ;) Gosh we could use it. It is so very dry, and hot it was 107* yesterday :/ Ugh who can stand that for long. I am still working part time and doing my mini farm. Had a busy spring had 15 kids here. they are all gone now. Also am watching my grand daughters 2 days a week. Man that will wear ya out LOL All in all it is good just fast moving and busy at times it feels like a blur xo

Yes so have I ,got a lot going on with GK this sparing was wild prom for all three and the oldest Graduated so did a party for her with another mom and her best friend and then there is always extra work days popping up and so that makes my weeks go very fast!My hummers are here and having their usual atercations with each other though.And wish I had bought more of those nice big mouthed feeders as I dont seem to be able to find any this year!!ACCCKKK

I hear you there !!its fun to watch them all though!I had a great experience with the hummingbirds yesterday was just finished cleaning and filling one of my feeders and took it out to hang on the pole when a hummer landed on it while I was holding it and stayed eating from a lot of the many ports!!It would look at me every once in a while and then keep eating what fun!!

I have so many broody hens this year. Several have hatched out some chicks.I bet there are 30 new chicks out there. :) I won't have to buy any this year.Our turkeys have had a bad year with their eggs. I usually have babies to sell this year I only got 5 and a skunk got them. Also only two pea chicks have hatch :/ I am letting the flock of turkens run around again. Had to keep them penned up for a bit because they were trashing the bamboo we transplanted UGH the poultry life LOL

you are so welcome mine are all up but not a one close to blooming just yet !A lot of the tulips that were always so awesome next door have been chompted off by deer!!Its still pretty nice here just cooled down for awhile.Wow planting it will be awhile here the hubs broke ground in my old garden tonight with my troy built tiller. I had about 10 years ago it was hard going he said but it will be nice when its done!!

HEY Silver!!!! I am finally ok have been down with a bad case of influenza for about a month the head thing was what really lasted the longest but there were a couple very bad weeks where i couldnt even go to work!!Back at it again now!Say how are things with you?? we had an awesome winter hardly any snow and few sub zero days!!My Cardinals stayed all winter we got a pair last spring and they came every day to the feeders!So great never had any before in all these years!!

well Hummers have been spotted in the state not far from us I guess unless they didnt know what they were seeing?I was pretty sure they never come back till May but maybe thats just here!Poor things will find nothing to eat if they come back now its supposed to snow too!!

Hubby said he saw a hummer on the feeder early Sat morning but I still haven't seen one here at the house. We're going camping this weekend and I'll put out a feeder and see if we can get them there.

I have been to busy to even enjoy sitting out on the deck but from the door I have only seen a hummer 2xs. It has been so wet hot and humid here we got 5 inches of rain in a day and a half last week.. Brenda

Mine seem to be in the flowers more then the feeders right now a lot of things are blooming here and I think they are too busy with them so maybe they are coming some and you didnt see them ? I know I tryed to get some pictures today and by the time I was ready they were gone!ARRGGG

Same here except we only get the Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds. Still don't see any yet. I thought they would be earlier this year, but the first time I saw one last spring as the 17th and it's the 15th already.

Our temps have bee low at night but nice during the day. Still just the black throated hummers here I miss the variety we used to get .

I had a small dog years ago whos tail got pulled by a visiting kid and she hate kids after that!They do not forget~ and some kids are not good with them.How are the fires there?Thats so sad that so many have lost their homes!
poor little guys almost drownd yesterday it rained over 2 in. and a little small hail thrown in for good measure!Yikes
I planted a row of pinkish purple ones my sis gave me!I have a few in some pots but they turned out white not my favorite color flower.
and they went nuts! totally loved it!
