I have a friend who just showed me an interesting way to pack lunches. Ever gone to a Japanese restaurant for lunch and ordered the bento box lunch? It is all set up neatly and there are nutritional guidelines for building a bento lunch. This site's lunchinabox.net/ FAQ page gives a lot of really good information. Apparently if you follow the guidelines on number of servings for which type of food to put in, the number of calories for the lunch should match the volume of the box (600 mL box == 600 Calories) I am going to read more about this, and see if it would be a fun way to start making my lunch (or my son's for school)!
