I don't eat out much, but I occasionally will meet a friend at Le Peep's and have the spinach salad. They have several items marked as lighter in calories. The main thing with restaurants is the portion size. They are almost always way too large. Try taking home half the order, or split it with someone.
Bob Evans actually has some nice entrées. I like the chicken or the salmon. And Denny's Tilapia is pretty good.
The thing I like about these two (esp. Bob Evans) is that they have the nutritional information on site that you can look at - you just have to ask (and I DO).
Flat top is another favorite of mine. It's all fresh food that you pick AND they have the calories, etc. of the sauces listed on a large board above the cooking area.
If I'm in the mood for fried chicken, I'll go to Gil's in Hanna City. They have a skinless fried chicken that is hard to tell there's no skin (not the healthiest, but a acceptable compromise for me).
I'm not afraid to ask re: how food is prepared either. The servers sometimes have to find out and get back to you, but that's okay.
The least accommodating place I think I've been is Avanti's. I asked for a fish they had to have the sauce left off or put on the side and was told the cook said no. So I asked if they could just go light on the sauce, and again the cook said no. This is the ONLY place I've ever had that happen.... ... so the worst thing that can happen is they say 'no' and I've had that happen and found that it did not embarrass me; it just made me not want to eat there.

I wanted to find out where your favorite places to eat out are, and what do you order that is healthy? I'm just getting started, so I haven't yet had the opportunity to eat out and choose a healthy dish yet. I am going to Buffalo Wild Wings tomorrow night with my husband and plan on ordering the Grilled Chicken Buffalitos. I am a total Mexican junkie. Jalapenos, Aztekita, Tequilas, and Los Jimadores are my favorite places when I need my fix. From the research I've done, it looks like the healthiest options are fajitas or chicken tacos.
