Getting it started is a lot of work. Next year is soon enough. You can always hit the Farmer's Market at the Metro Center for some fresh produce!

I have tomatoes on the vine, the green beans are starting to blossom, as are the zucchini and butternut squash. I can see some small green peppers and banana peppers forming.

I would love to have a garden and I think next year we are putting one in. We just had to much stuff to do to the old house and now the new house we didn't get one put it.

I've added broccoli, brussels sprouts, and eggplant.

I got the tomatoes, peppers and squash planted before the storms hit. The rain is good for them, and boy did we get some rain!

I guess we don't have that many gardeners in Peoria. The same message in the Bloomington/Normal group got many responses.

Any gardeners among Peoria Sparkers?

I have a long strip behind the fence where I've planted sunflowers, tomatoes, green peppers, banana peppers, and green beans. I have another small spot for butternut squash and zucchini. Along the side of the house I planted Cosmos and sunflowers. I have geraniums in boxes on the porch, along with some herbs: basil, thyme, parsley, and rosemary. I want to add cilantro and sage to the herb box. I'm looking forward to harvest time! I may also plant some lettuce and radishes in front of the tomatoes, before the tomato plants get too big.
