I've been stressed out and not feeling myself. This month has been a roller coaster for us and I'm trying to fight through it all. I am trying to get back on Spark again, working out as hard as my body will allow without falling apart and I have started running. I've never been a runner, so doing 2 miles in under 28 minutes this morning (with traffic, potty breaks for my dog (my running partner) and water breaks for her) feels awesome! I am determined to do this...

If anyone is near Cobb Galleria and wants to hike on the weekends or join me for cardio classes Tuesday and Thursday nights, let me know! Message me...

Thanks for the input LIFEINTHEZONE! I just ordered my tracker. Maybe it will give me incentive to move more outside of exercising. I watched a series of documentaries on PBS last Spring by a British physician/journalist about diet and weight loss (anyone know the name of it?) One of the most interesting parts for me was the experiment on how amount and timing of activity effected the body. The gist was that the server in the café (who did not work out) was doing much better than the man who worked sat at a desk, but worked out hard for an hour or so each day.

I wish I could remember the name of the journalist and the series. I highly recommend it! It was well done and had a lot of info and cutting edge research, yet wasn't dry or boring. Anyway, I'm hoping the activity tracker will help me put some of that info to good use.

I may not be good at losing weight, but I'm damn good at finding it! That counts too...right?

I LOVE my activity tracker! As a matter of fact, I am going on vacation stating tomorrow. I have actually packed a spare battery in my suitcase in case my battery goes out. I don't think it will, I started in November and still have 1/4 green on the indicator, but I DO NOT want to be without it. I recommend it, but you might want to go to some of the message boards and see other responses. I primarily walk so it works for me. I do strength training also and the activity tracker does not track it automatically -- you can add it. And yes, some people have lost their trackers. I keep mine on my shoe lace and it seems to work just fine.

Hi All

I'm starting again after months uh....working on other projects. Yeah, that's my excuse, I mean reason. Actually, I got discouraged when I plateaued and quit on myself again. But I'm back now and appreciate you all for the motivation and inspiration you bring. Thanks everyone and hope you are getting stronger and healthier each day.!

Has anyone tried the Spark Activity Tracker? Does it work for you? I tried a pedometer last Spring and managed to lose it in the park on my first day using it. Don't ask, I'd like to think that it was because I was pushing it so hard that it couldn't take it and went into spontaneous combustion emoticon

Week 3 of bootcamp challenge is wrapping up. Still going strong! Wondering what challenge I will do next. I don't want to loose this momentum. It has been a challenge just to get back into my healthy habits. They were soooo dusty!

I've been missing for a while, partly because I've had to do everything on my phone with all computers down. I'm ready to get back at it and get back on Spark. I'll be training for the Down And Dirty mud run this coming October. Would anyone like to join me? I could definitely use some help staying accountable and friends in other states just aren't cutting it. Having someone close by would be so wonderful! The last team event, I couldn't find anyone and ended up walking alone with my daughter. Who's in?

Had a good day. I stopped by McDonalds to use the computer and order a salad. I had my own dressing in the car. The salad was good. I have no idea why I stopped ordering them and went back to the burgers. Maybe because of the 1.00 menu. Well I'm back to eating healthy which aint bad with the spark recipes.

Cathy - you're doing great - keep up the good work!

As for me, I've not been around SP for a few days, but have been watching intake. No exercise to speak of since Saturday since I'm still trying to kick this sinus infection. I'm participating in a 5k this weekend, so hopefully I will feel better by then. Still losing weight, which is great!

I LOVED my first Good Measures Meal! Oh my goodness but it was a lot of food! I had pancakes and sausage links for breakfast. They were scrumptious!!!

Terrific Tuesday - Fulfill a Challenge - drink your water, do your exercise, plan your men, weigh-in, adjust your goals!

Just completed the first 4 weeks of 10 minutes a day exercise and I feel GREAT! Signed up for 100 days! I can do it!,

Missy - my DH signed us up for a 5K for mid-March. I told him I'm in but I may do the fast walking. We will see how I'm doing by then but I WILL DO IT! Good luck to you!

2 1/2 weeks post-surgery and I got in a 60 min walk today.
I'm looking forward to a full release in 4 weeks to start back my
regular exercise routine...for now walking is still moving by body
and I'm happy to be able to do it.

Good for you!! That was the way I had to do it for a while. I could keep my fitness moving along, but the food was a hit and miss. Now, I have them both in line. I'm so glad I didn't give up. YOU can do it too!!!

I'm off to the grocery store for a few odds and ends, then it's a day of relaxation. Exercise is done, both cardio and strength training. Woohoo!!!!

This week has been stressful. I feel like the last 2 months I have been WAY off with my eating and I have been feeling not so great. I am happy for rest this weekend. I am proud of myself for keeping my exercise on track, but nutrition is what makes me feel best. So today I am going to concentrate on good eating. Happy weekend.

How do we find out who wants to be on this team? It looks like just a few have checked in for the last month. How do we become a leader if we have none? I'm willing to put my hat in. It's only been a week for me but I'm keeping up with things. I'm still not sure where to check in on teams, etc. but I'm learning.
Doing the 10 minute challenge which is keeping me in line and walking a minimum of 3 miles a week (already did that for this week LOL).

I am doing well today is Day 30 of my 30 Day Shed and I cannot wait until the last day, I will be taking this day by day. I took a morning jog for Cardio and I don't know what I will do for Phase 2 this evening.

I doing quiet well today. Earlier in the week, my upper body was a bit sore. After taking a few weeks off from strength training to concentrate on the Peachtree Road Race, I returned to the gym this week and my upper body was not happy about that. However, another day at it today and I'm getting back in the groove of ST and my muscles are much happier today.

I'm doing ok.. air conditioner shut down last night and repairman is here. Found out the problem, just praying for a good price! And on top of that this is the week TOM came to visit so I'm trying to keep my motivation up to do small workouts at least. So trying to make sure at least stay good on my diet.

Good Afternoon,
I am excited to be a member of this team. I just relocated to Atlanta.


I am getting in my excercise everyday, Between 30-60 laps of swimming, P90X and Tiffany Rothe videos, I am doing it!!! I have lost about 135lbs and I feel great!

I'm having a great day with somewhat not so good moments. I am glad to be alive and well and that makes the day awesome. My sister and I have been traveling all weekend and we made it to our destinations and back home safe and sound. I had an awesome 2 hour and 12 min workout - it felt great. The not so good moment was the whole weekend while traveling had some horrible eating moments including today. I'm not too upset about Sat. and Sun because those are my designated splurge days. But I am not so happy about the way I ate today - even though I was under my calorie range my fat was through the roof. But the interesting thing is I do not feel guilty or bad about myself like I used to. I've just made a plan to do better tomorrow and since I am at home I can definitely plan better.

DENISED007 I am sure you will figure out the right mix of fitness and nutrition that will jump start you into weight loss mode. emoticon

I'm feeling horrible! Just when my scale drops one or two pounds, it seems the next day one or two pick back up! Ugh! I know it's stress, going to have to make a more conscious effort to drink my green tea once a day! And now that the July 4th holiday and all the run around is over, I can't wait to get back out and walk in the fresh air! And yes, starting back tomorrow morning I'm getting up to work out for 30 minutes to jump start my day with fat burning and raising my metabolism! It's the stress that's keeping the fat on my belly and that's where my weight sits. I've been counting my calories and doing quite well with what I'm eating, and it seems that the scale doesn't move more than 2lbs up or down. Tired of being stuck in the same place, but I'm going to keep the right image of me in my head and keep working at it. Thanks Sparkers for helping me through this and letting me vent. emoticon

Hey how is everyone doing today! I have been working out quite regularly and making great strides. I have been doing Zumba on Sunday for 2 weeks now, my church sponsored it for 8 weeks, I am working out at home Sunday thru Friday in morning. just walking on Saturday but it is a serious walk 30 min. I am doing 30 to 50 incline/modified pushups emoticon and 60 to 100 crunches emoticon . I need to adjust the core work to include leg lifts. The lower abs are in need of work!!

Hi all - its been a very, very, very busy day but I got up earlier than usual and got my 2 hour workout in so at least that is done and out the way. My eating on the other had has been crazy - I actually haven't eaten enough (so much to do and its crazy HOT so didn't even have time to grab something quick). But since I will be traveling soon as I get off work (at midnight) I will probably be eating some on the way to my destination.

DENEISED007 and GAPEANUT I do all my workouts indoors - I have plenty of fitness DVDs, fitness for Wii and xbox. I have a little home gym with weights and resistance bands (this is my no excuse because I don't even have to leave the house).

NATARSHAD I know you will be back on track.

I wish everyone the best in this journey. We are all in this together and we are going to make it. emoticon emoticon

I agree with you GAPeanut about taking the walks indoors! But that only motivated me to do even more indoors. When I walk on the treadmill at home for 30 minutes I get off and do 100 hula hooping and 50 jumps with my jumprope..trying to work myself up. I figure that 50 jumps is almost one full minute!

LUCK NATARSHAD! I haven't had a good workout in these last 3 days, but I'm trying to keep the diet in check so it doesn't get me off base too bad, just keeps me stable, then when I get back to the workout area I'll be back to losing more instead of re-losing. Planned to get up and walk Saturday morning but work called today and have to be in there in the morning, Ugh. That's ok though, I'll hit a little here and there tomorrow! Anything is better than nothing!

Had a good 2 days so far. Got in 50 min exercise between walking, cardio rider and mini trampoline usually don't get that much exercise unless I'm in the pool

I went to the pool today and got 50 min in and will try to get a short walk in this evening after it cools down. I will need to walk just to make my step goal I'm sure.
