When I am on the Treadmill I pop in some motivating music and imagine that I am running away from the Old Me and my Bad Habits. Sometimes it even works when I am on a Bad Mood. I am running away from the Bad Mood and I seem to be able to run Further and Faster.

Sometimes I ride my Bike, or march in place, or I remember & do the Steps from Walk Away The Pounds DVDs, Sit Ups on the Exercise Ball, things like that. You would be surprised how much exercise you can get in while watching TV. Try It!! It will make a difference for you!

Dance with the Vacuum; Do Squats while Loading and Unloading the Dishwasher and Washing Machine or Dryer; Do Toe Touches while picking up Clutter around the house. You can have Fun AND get your Chores done at the same time.

emoticon If you are just starting out, it is OK to "Just" walk around the Block or "Just" to the end of the Driveway. It is OK to park "Just" a Little further from the Door when you go Shopping. You don't have to run a Marathon to Exercise, you just have to start where you are standing and do SOMETHING.

emoticon Even though by the end of the day, I sometimes think that I am too tired to get on the Bike, I always remember that after about 30 minutes I don't want to get Off Of It, LOL! One thing that definitely helps is watching TV on DVD while I do it. It portions my time, and sometimes I want to see the next episode so much that I just keep going!

To keep from getting Bored or Burned Out with your Exercise Routine, change it often. If you Walk or Bike to Work, change your Route often. Try an Exercise Class or a Sport that is new to you. Don't let the Fear of Stepping out of your Comfort Zone keep you from trying New Activities.

emoticon We all have Crazy Days when Our Schedules are tight and we don't have time for our Regular Workout. Be Flexible. Focus on what you Can Do, NOT what You Can't. If you can't get in your 3 Mile Run, take a Shorter Run and Stretch. Or, if you can't get to the Gym, go for a Walk or do a Spark Exercise Video.

emoticon On days you can't make it to the Gym (or in addition to the Gym!) Exercise during Commercial Breaks in the Programs that you watch in the Evening. It can be your Balance Ball, Resistance Bands, Free Weights, Hula Hoop, or even just Marching In Place!! Just keep moving throughout the Commercial Break!

emoticon Are you struggling with getting those 10,000 Steps in? First, get OFF the Couch, Then Get a Pedometer, Take the Stairs instead of the Elevator (even if it is just for One Floor at first), Park the Car at the Far End of the Parking Lot at Work or when Shopping.
emoticon If all else fails, March in Place beside the Bed or while you are Brushing Your Teeth to get in those last steps.

emoticon Just For The Record, I HATE taking Exercise Breaks. I compromise by doing Different Exercises on consecutive days. Except for Walking I never do the Same Exercise or Machines 2 Days in a row.
